Due to yet unknown reasons, the main SMF site - http://www.simplemachines.org is down currently. And since this have been going on for some time now, the team is setting up a temporary site to provide support - while this matter is being resolved.
http://www.simplemachinesforum.org
The main site is now up again. :)
This is a generic page with 2 links.
A temporary support forum --> http://www.simplemachinesforum.org/community/ (http://www.simplemachinesforum.org/community/)
And a Download page -> http://smf.oldiesmann.us/index.php?topic=135.0 (http://smf.oldiesmann.us/index.php?topic=135.0)
So far these files are available, but this could change quickly.
smf_1-0-5_install.zip (1113.09 KB - downloaded 2 times.)
smf_1-0-5_upgrade.zip (1119.58 KB - downloaded 2 times.)
smf_1-1-rc1_install.zip (1371.18 KB - downloaded 8 times.)
smf_1-1-rc1_upgrade.zip (1400.73 KB - downloaded 1 times.)
And these also:
Repair Settings PHP: http://df05.dot5hosting.com/~petersta/smf_repair_settings.php (http://df05.dot5hosting.com/~petersta/smf_repair_settings.php)
SMF v1.0.5 TAR BZ: http://df05.dot5hosting.com/~petersta/smf_1-0-5_install.tar.bz2 (http://df05.dot5hosting.com/~petersta/smf_1-0-5_install.tar.bz2)
ran spell-check
I'm getting diddly squat on the .org url
But http://www.simplemachinesforum.org/community/ is working(ish)
That username does not exist.ÂÃ, :'(
So you will need to re-register to get on
It looks like Oldiesmann has set something up with the files, but without a backup database.
Sh1t happens, let's be patient.

Of course you will have to register. It's a new board on a new domain.
Oldiesmann must have a file backup but not a database backup.
Maybe this is why I have been having probs with my admin lately. It ties into something over there. I wonder how you can disable it?
no just the news box does. nothing else is linked to sm.org
It will make your admin section load slowly. The news has to time out before it will load.
When in admin center, just press another link there instead of waiting for the page to load...
About backups and such, oldiesmann does not have any backup of the users or postings from simplemachines.org. He simply supplied the downloads links in this transit period. Compuart set up the new site where support - and information - will be provided, and he too doesn't have that resource.
We will just see what happens, and hope it will be resolved soon.
Thanks Bloc and others here for helping to provide information on the transitional SMF site. I should have mentioned it earlier that it is wonderful you've given the info here and help as otherwise, I still wouldn't know what was going on. :)
I hope you mean unknown reasons rather than [unknown] reasons.... lol. Seriously though, I thought it was my internet connection, thanks for the email bloc.....
well, it seems funny that ever since this started I've been having problems with my admin. I can login but the pages won't load.

We have to wait I guess...the team also waits on this one.
