Although I have all the updates and patches installed for the shout box, and I do not allow guest shouts, there were 4 shouts there this morning, it wasn't any of my members, but they posted like they were. So my only recourse was to close the shout box from being viewed by anyone except members. I have also close down the forum for viewing and now I am seriously thinking of closing the front page also. I'll just allow news and that's it.

No, it did no harm, this time and that is what I am afraid of, that someone with more evil intent would create a real problem for me. I am still at a lost as to how they were able to post, I did not allow guest shouts and a text-box is not visible for guest.

The only thing i can think of if they have changed their username from the profile, posted the shout and then just left. They had to be registerd to post, there is no other way to access the shoutbox if you have the settings to not even show if they arent logged in.
What SMF and Tp are you using ???
If you are running on the old version, we cant do much to help eather, the new versions of both SMF and TP have a major upgrade in the security then the old 1.1rc2 and TP V.086
And yes, the New TP V.095 is released about 2 weeks ago, you fint it in the download section, we dont support TP V.086 any more eather ;)
I am at SMF 1.1 RC 2, & TP_ .8.6
I was waiting for the go ahead from Bloc before I upgraded to either, I guess I must have miss that. But even so, I have mods installed that I am not certain will work with the newer versions and had hope to wait a little longer for the updates for them.
As I said, guest shouts were not allowed and no text box shows for guests. I thought the same thing as you, so I checked the members, none of my members had shown logged on at any time during the night. The names used were not any of my members except one and that one also had not shown as logged on for at least a week. A member does not have to post for the forum to at least show them as having visited the forum, right? So I am very perplex at how it was done and I am not knowledgeable enough to figure it out. :idiot2:
The mods that I use are all compatible, with the only exception being a small issue that some of us are having with arcade. Other then that, they all plug in just fine :)
