So I have this xspf player on my site. I thought it was cool at first but it has no fast forward or rewind options. Is there any free flash based players with more options than this one?

check out the block code snippets index (http://www.tinyportal.net/smf/index.php?topic=4983.0) you will find one there

here is the best one available for free:
Sweet! Goes off of the same playlist I use currently! I'm going to give it a whirl.
Screw that. That thing has like 50 files in the .zip. :'(
it needs 3 or 4 files maximum
player
playlist
configuration
and a few others
the rest are source files and documentation
it is the best one available - the rest is up to you
How did you sift through all the bullcrap? The one I'm using now came with like 3 files. I'm not the most proficient at all this. If I figure out the only files it needs then I can just scrap all the others?
When you download the file - unzip it KEEPING the folder lay out
you will end up with folders:
__MACOSX (ignore this its for mac users)
flash_mp3_player (go in here you will find more folders)
---------------------
in here ignore everything
upload:
- mp3 folder
- config.xml
- playlist.xml
- mp3player.swf
- index.html (this is how you will see your mp3 player)
Inside the mp3 folder place all your mp3 files
All configuration is done in the config.xml file
and the playlist is compiled via the playlist.xml file
for info on those 2 files refer to the readme folder
Something must be wrong with my winzip program. It gives me all sorts of wrong stuff. I just get a boat load of files. Like multiple .swf players. I may have to try this on another computer. :(
Thanks a ton for the info though.
to unzip preserving the Folder layout
RIGHT CLICK the zip file and use the Winzip menu option:
Extract to folder c:\foldername
where c:\ is your drive letter
and foldername is the same name usually as the zip archive
Thanks a ton man. Made all the difference in the world. Got her working great. Exept for the fact that I cant get her to auto scroll like some of the ones I've seen. Can't find any skins for her either. ff/rr was I was realy worried about anyways.
the script homepage has a support forum try asking down there for skins and auto scrolling

Yeah I kind of looked around for it. I think it's beyond my technical capabilities for right now. (autoscroll)
Here she is anyways. I have it setup on my site so it opens in like a 200 by 300 window.
Check out Candymans mix.

I was looking for a free player so I'll just share my findings here:
(One of them is already mentioned above.)

This one is equally cool. You can use their player instead of setting up on your site.

That player sure does look cool.
I ended up buying the wimpy player for $30 lastnight. The one I'm using currently has a ton of problems.
I ran a beta version of it here:
http://www.buffalobassline.com/mixes/wimpy.php
I didn't install the full version yet as I was drinking wine heavily lastnight and didn't want to mess anything up.
You can find the wimpy player here:

Here are all of my skin options:

This player has been tested from my site on every browser we could think of. Including all the mac ones. Works like a charm! I'm exited to set er up.
I'll post a link to the full version as soon as I set it up after work today.
OK I finaly got this guy working. (the Wimpy Player from a few posts above.)
On my site it opens in a presized window. It's so nice if you ask me. Using an itunes skin.

Nice custom skin. One of the huge perks of paying for a player is the ease of use and all the extra options and software available to you. Glad I decided to shell out the cash in the long run.
