Title: I know you dont want to hear about any more problems....
Post by: ta2025 on September 12, 2006, 12:22:52 AM
I upgraded two sites today.

One had minimal data on it and the other was a production board.

The minimal board went without a hitch and I have all the options I think I should have in  TP admin.

The other site, however, has a strange anomaly in admin.  Im using neptune and have already installed the TPortalBlocks patch.   my TPAdmin appears to still be 0.86?  Im missing all the extended options that include the layout of blocks that have changed between 0.86 and 0.95 and under Admin->Tiny Portal->settings,  whatever menu item is to the right of "News" is missing from my menu.

It goes...

News || Settings | Frontpage | Modules

any ideas?

does it show the extended options when you are in the default theme?

Yes, it does the same in Default.

It is also giving me:

Quote
Session verification failed. Please try logging out and back in again, and then try again.

when I try to edit blocks.

I fixed this in other places by downloading the "patch" as mentioned above.

did you run the tp_upgrade.php found here (http://www.tinyportal.net/smf/index.php?action=tpmod;dl=item326)

Even if you have, it probably wouldnt hurt to do so again (upload and run it)

You may also want to upload the files_only to make sure all the TP files have been installed.

I just tried both.

I went in via shell and manually unzipped the TP_095beta.zip file in main smf folder and saw no errors.  I also ran the tp_install.php file and got the appropriate messages with no warnings nor errors,  but no change.

:uglystupid2:

any ideas?

in my working small site, I have:

Settings
Block Manager
Article Manager
Downloads Manager
Link Manager
Gallery Manager
TeamPage Manager

in my Admin menu for Tiny Portal

in my larg site, it is:

Settings
Blocks
Articles
Downloads Manager

Your large site is not getting updated. Maybe you need to delete the files before you upload the files.

Roamernz, you post has nothing to do with this topic. There are posting guidelines for a reason, please follow them. DO NOT hijack other peoples threads.

I would be terrified to delete those files.  We depend on that site.

I think its database though.

I copied the small site to a folder on the large site and changed the database settings manually.  I have the same problem.  The TP database seems to be messed up.

I know you said you ran the install.php file. But did you run the manual_tp_install.php file?

Did you install the TP with Neptune theme set as your forum Default theme?
Perhaps a long shot, but set your forum to SMF Default Core theme (always when installing things) and then upload the manual TP install package files and really check so they replace and overwrite the old ones, then point your browser to manual_tp_install.php again and cross your fingers

I uploaded "manual_1.1rc3_tpv095Beta_ready_to_go_files.zip"  but I see no "manual_tp_install.php" file in that archive?
