Well, I just downloaded and uploaded the bate to my server and just got my first error. I installed SMF 1.1 RC1 on my server, uploaded the files in the tiny portal zip, and tried to run tp_install.php. Here is the error:

It appears as though tiny portal is not reading my mysql password, and I have created an account in cpanel with no password specifically for SMF to bypass this problem. My guess is that I tried to install this in the wrong way, and I suggest that you make an install.txt or make a simple outline so others can simplify it to language for ordinary people (some of us are kinda illiterate to this stuff, not me, but some people).
it's not recommended to install tp on smf 1.1RC1. for now maybe you should use 1.1beta3 version of smf, and install tp thru the pckg manager? it's far easier and you shouldn't get the errors (hopefully :P )
beta 6.5 has not been ported for the RC1 version as Moocat has stated (yet). If you want it to work I would recommend doing a manual install. Someone else got it to work here I think, but I'm not sure what they did.

Also, I just found that when it is installed on 1.1 RC1, it does in fact run. The resulting board can be seen at http://www.fisdforum.hostingforum.biz/tinyportal and is quite nice. If anyone wants me to edit files or anything because I'm using RC1, please email me at arew264(at)aim.com.

The forum located at the address given above will be used for testing purposes only (I will run a separate site for beta testing on 1.1b3). Thanks for the offer..but I don't think its needed. This site will soon be using 1.1RC1 with Tiny Portal 0.73. ;)
EDIT: one note..the tp_install.php assumes a mysql connection is already present..becuase its executed from within the package manager. What you would need in this case, is amnual install - that will do that bit too. It will be included in the next release.
