I've decided to leave the other "Static Page Mod" threads because they are not what I'm looking for: Could you take the index template and rename it, so that you could assign each custom page it's own template to call from? That way, you could assign a different logo to each page, depending upon what it is. Also, to assign a button in it's proper location, to call this page. This has been done very nicely with XMB and I was wondering if it could be done with SMF/your portal and the helios-multi_tp theme?

Hey Mark, could you possibly give me an example of what you'd like to do? Maybe a site with an example? I want to make sure I'm on the right page before I give any suggestions. I don't think it would be wise to rename the index.template.php for forum/theme reasons. But I think that what you're asking for is definately possible. I just want to make sure that I understand before I give any advise. :)
I didn't say replace the index template, just rename it so that particular page can call from there.. Using XMB, I can totally separate a given page by for instance, copying the portal_header template into the new template box and then renaming it to ????????????_header. If you look on my sites, http://www.sundayniagara.com , or http://www.americandragracing.com , that's exactly what I have done. Those pages blend in seamlessly with the forum like they have been there since day one. I have posted XMBXtreme's Custom Page Mod before, but I will post it again. Basically what I'm saying is that by giving each page it's own template, including the portal page, you can have a very fluid and functional website.
Mark
PS: This will also allow you to separate each page, so that you could place a different logo on each, if you like.

The system is already there in SMF, without TP - its called to "wrap" an action - including a template..but I haven't tried it too much, so it may not be what you want.
Essentially..having index.template.php stripped of anyhting but the <body> tags and the copyright, will allow any subtemplates to "determine" the look....So it would be both a theme and mod related task to duplicate what you are seeking.
I don't think that is what I'm looking for..

I can give you a good example of what is being asked here if you look of Lunabyte System, they have the ability to create as many pages as you want.
http://www.lunabyte.net/index.php?page=lss
They use index.php?op= and then index.php?page= once you go to the page.
I used LSP before and I can tell you that it is very handy to be able to create pages.
JaxDoug
Well, TP has "articles" that will simply act as either html or php pages..and if a module to collect a outside html page is made too, you already have many choices.
Articles are called like LSP does.... index.php?page=14 for example.
If that number could be a name it would of course be more easy to remember. is that whats meant here?
No, the pages would create a blank page which you could put html or php output, yet it retains the blocks set on the main page, right and left colume or center blocks.
sorry if I am not being clear. Create a page is different that creating an article, page should support html or php and have an editor to copy/paste html code in them.

But this is the same as what an article can do. Mind you, it doesn't have the same type of link as Bloc pointed out. But essentially you can do the same thing in an article as you can with just a page. Then just put links to them in your menu or something. Maybe, I'm not quite getting what you're saying either. :idiot2:

Bingo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mark
why not do a rotating header can't remeber the string of codeÂÃ, but you can make it change images everythime the page is refreshed or you go to a new page...I had that on my old forums and it worked great...
Here is a link for it...http://www.nooblet.ws/tutorials/htmlbc.php (http://www.nooblet.ws/tutorials/htmlbc.php)

hm, as IchBin says, "articles" in TP can do the same, only just with html code, and you do have an WYSIWYG editor which you also can turn off. The non-wysiwyg part could do some improvement though.
And..the latest TP also support php articles. ;)
Maybe the difference is actually storing the pages? TP put it in the database, but maybe LSP use a actual file...?
