i am running smf 1.1 RC2 and I want to install Tinyportal... But i have a lot of problems when changing files.... Maby someone has all changed files and can share with others... :'( Please...
Sorry for my bad english... ::)
Cant you install TP from your package manager? That way the installer with in SMF do it all for you.
Download http://www.tinyportal.net/smf/index.php?action=tpmod;dl=item99 and upload through your SMF packages and the installer will do all the work.
Try package manager, its cool. First i was also trying
to do the mods manually (as I was used to editing files for invision mods)

Is this "Package Manager?" Tinyportal0_86_rev2(2) How does it get installed? It still looks the same as the first way I've tried because it includes that big long list of changes to the code. I was hoping to find a way to do a fresh install of SMF and TP with all of those changes already made.
Look at my second post in this thread ;)

Yes, I've downloaded that file, but I don't know what to do with it. The "Read Me" file just has a write-up about it's features, and the "TP_mod-instructions" has the same line-by-line code change instructions in it that I was trying to avoid.

I wish I could understand what's being said here, because it looks like I'm getting closer, but I still haven't found "it" (the thing/ entity) called "Package Manager." I can find a lot of text that talks about Package Manager, but it doesn't lead to "it" (whatever "it" is). I'm not sure if I'm looking for a download to install called "package manager," a series of "package manager" text files, some sort of "package manager" application, something within the SMF or TP packages, or something else entirely. I'm sure they'll be a huge "oh, duh" on my part once I get it, but I'm still lost.
Admin/Packages/Download Packages/
Click the "browse" button, find the TP V.086.zip file you downloaded on your local machine (the link i psted in this thread), Click on upload and then [Apply Mod] and you should have a go

In the download "Tinyportal0_86_rev2" the folders are:
-- Sources
-- Themes
-- tp-downloads
-- wysiwig
There are two text files, and (11) other files.
Once again, I hate to be so totally dumb about this, but I still don't have any idea as to what you're referring to. I don't see any of those folders within this download.
Dont extract the file.
Upload it as is (.zip) through the steps i wrote, the package manager will handle every thing for you
I used packcage manager and it works very well...
Vital, you have to go into the Admin section of your forum. There you will see a link titled "Package Manager".

Ok, I had no idea to do that. So I've done it and seem to be making some progress even though it looks VERY weird right now. I'm getting the message:
"The default theme's directory is wrong, please correct it by clicking this text."
I'm hoping that I'm in the homestretch, and I appreciate all the help and patience so far.
