How do you handle a .rar file. I know how to upload .zip files to my server, but no clue what to do with a .rar file. please explain

What do you intend to do with the file? Extract or sharing?

Wartog, you really need to learn to post in the correct forum. I can sit here all day long moving your post to the proper forums.

As Xarcell said, you need WINRar (http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm)

This link is for a demo version, but it does it's job :)
