Title: linkit issue
Post by: superQ on August 05, 2006, 09:45:51 PM
assuming it is some server issue I have notified [email]the host to look here so let me say here that this issue happens when I try to create a php block and after entering in the correct info the errors happen.

Tried to install the linkit block[ http://www.tinyportal.net/smf/index.php?topic=6907.0  ]  on 1 site and it worked nice. tried it on the other and get this in FF.

I entered the code in the first post in the linkit thread.
I do not know if it is a host problem...

ff says:

Not Acceptable
An appropriate representation of the requested resource /index.php could not be found on this server.

and this in IE

The resource cannot be displayed
The resource you are looking for cannot be opened by your browser.

Please try the following:

Click the  Back button to try another link.
Click  Search to look for information on the Internet.

HTTP Error 406 - Not acceptable
Internet Explorer

Since it worked on 1 and not the other is it a problem with the host?

Thanks.

Hi Steve,

It's Alex from eWebZone.  It appears a redirect of some sort is causing the problem.   If you modify the URL manually to nothing but http://www.therockpile.org/index.php it works just fine.  I'm looking into it for you now.

nobody has any idea what would produce that situation in the first post. when i  add the linkit code into the php box and click send it gives this in IE. I can add other php blocks.

Not Acceptable
An appropriate representation of the requested resource /index.php could not be found on this server.

I would assume its a host issue if it worked on one site and not the other. What has your host said?

He said

This definitely is a configuration error relates  specifically to
your bulletin board, and not a conflict.

he wants to move the site to another server and do a fresh install of everthing.

Did you get that pm I sent a few days :knuppel2: agoIchBin.

I wouldn't mind someone else trying to do it. It would eliminate my computer as the problem.

Gotta go to the bakery now will be back in a short while.

Hi John,

At your request, we're in the process of migrating your account to a different server.  We'll start with a fresh install of you board and see if that takes care of your issues.

Continue to contact us via e-mail if we can be of assistance.

Hi SuperQ.. sorry, I missed this thread originally.  Is Linkit working for you now?

Also, I have made a couple of updates since the original posting that you may wish to incorporate if you haven't already.  The code is in the original post (http://www.tinyportal.net/smf/index.php?topic=6907.msg56914#msg56914).

Yes it is working fine for me now. It was nothing to do with your code. Changed servers and worked right away(https://www.tinyportal.net/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.smileypad.com%2Fv224%2FFeelings%2FVictory.gif&hash=0ce63a7abc47c55cf16584faf4cb959e0ddf9cf1)
