Is it possible to set permissions for a single board so guests can post in it?
I don't think so. They can view it though going to admin > boards > modify > check guests.
If you have selected they can't post, then they can view it but not post in it.
Ok thanks thought so.
You know though, that is a great idea.
I think there is a way.
Change permnissions to allow guests to post.
Then go to admin > boards > modify and uncheck guests. Do this for every board you don't want them to post on. They will only be able to see the boards they can post on though.
That is the long way around but it will definitely work. I was thinking the same thing.
You sure can
Go to
SMF 1.07
Admin -> [Forum Controls] Manage Boards -> (for board to edit) Permissions
SMF 1.1 RC2
Admin -> [Members] Permissions -> Settings
Check
Enable advanced by-board permissions (?):
Now go to
Admin -> [Forum] Boards -Modify Boards
You will see added
(for board to edit) Permissions <- Click
Switch to Local then click to local then modify for Guests
(1.07 is easier in this section)
Click Guests and enable
Post new topics and
Post replies to topics

More permissions can be given but doesn' t make sense.
You can have a try in my site' s Test Board (http://www.aeromodelling.gr/ForumS/index.php?language=english&board=58.0)
All boards can be seen by guests, they can post in only three.
The menu will be forcrd to English, you will have some Greek aroundÃ,
