Title: error on install
Post by: iceberg on August 01, 2006, 10:53:27 PM
i'm LOVING tiny portal and wanna nuke some other projects i've got going. to test it to start, we've got a site setup at:

http://www.nippletonstate.com/community -

i installed the default SMF from our host.
i upgraded to 1.1
it was left on the default SMF theme
i downloaded tiny portal and uploaded it to my server
i ran the package and it gave no errors.
i installed it

now i get:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ';', expecting ')' in /home/nippl3/public_html/community/SSI.php on line 1551

i can nuke and start over, but i need to figure out why it does this and the theme thing before i can convert over my newsgroup on www.dtxcowboys.net/forums - which i wanna do ASAP.

in any event - thanks in advance for the help!

I don't think TP 0.86 touches the SSI.php file... The only thing I can think of is that another mod or something happened to the SSI.php file. Make a backup of that file, then replace it with a fresh file from the SMF download package.

i don't think i had too many mods on there yet, just some skins.

my main goal is to setup SMF w/this as a portal w/blogging. would it be easier to just nuke my setup and start over?

Its up to you what you want to do. I don't think it would be easier if you want to keep your member database. But if you don't care, then yeah go for a clean install.

well, this hasn't even "started' yet so it won't matter. my cowboys newsgroup i'd love to port over to this sounds like it would be too big a pain. i've got a LOT of mods and skins installed and they seem to cause issues w/it.

thanks man!
