i noticed that thi forum is using TP 0.7.2 beta... is this released to the public yet, and i'm just missing something, or is it still a work in progress?

New versions do have bug fixes, and additional features. Some of the additional features are disabled, due to continuing work by bloc.
Some popular requests have been added also.
But this code is largely untested on many platforms, and that is why only a few have access. And not all languages are supported.

Give Bloc a break, his personal life was very busy the last 2 weeks, I know he posted about it. Had car trouble, sickness with himself and wife and kids. Could have been more also.
I would like to inform/remind people that Bloc, and other people at SMF (Mod writers/Skin Authors, ect.) all have full time jobs and do this part-time. Most of them make zero money from their efforts. And we as users sometimes forget these realities.
We also forget that Bloc is Learning as he goes along.
A beta tester community is a good thing, unless we slow Bloc down with non-essential
diversions. We must remember we are here to serve Bloc and his needs, not the other way around. If we help bloc develop this excellent TinyPortal project, he will probably

Thanks. :) You are right, i am learning as I go along, but its amazing how much you can learn pretty fast, when the need is there. Without people like you giving feedback it would have been more of a fiddling-on-the-backroom type of project. ;)
Please do not take my asking seriously, as much as I would love to have the latest version now to play with, I too work full time, have a family along with all that goes with both,I also run several websites for non-profit groups and do so for no charge to them. So I more then understand how and why this stuff takes time, and that it is done for free.
None the less, I had to ask if we were there yet.. doing so in the manner in which I did was just to show childish impatience in anticipation of this mod, it was in no way any kind of criticism of anyone .
So if anyone took this the wrong way.... my apologies.
