Hello Redpin
Tinyportal0_86_rev2-1.zip seems to me like a renamed file, could be the files only zip.
Filename should be Tinyportal0_86_rev2.zip, it is downloaded from
http://www.tinyportal.net/smf/index.php?action=tpmod;dl=item99
It contains the latest patches so better delete the old one from your server and use this file.
Cheers mate, i'll have ago at it downloading it again as renaming the file diddnt seem to solve the problem
I just uploaded a fresh copy of it with the link provided and removed the old1 , however i'm still unable to see the 'Install' button.
Do you upload the TP package through admin and the packagemanager, or do you upload it through FTP ?
Another thing you can check is the permissions to the file, it might not have the right permissions to be read through the manager
I uploaded it through FTP, the permissions are set at 666
Delete the file and upload it from your PC with package manager.
Cheers i think i'm getting somewhere now :)

:) Out of curiousity Redpin,
What version of SMF do you currently have? It might be the difference..
SMF 1.0.7 ;)
Was SMF installed as 1.07 or upgraded?
I see SMF 1.07 upgrade installed. This should not be applied to fresh 1.07.
Na, i installed SMF 1.05 and then applied the update.
Hmm... I have the original problem (no install option) and I did upload through package manager and the file name is Tinyportal0_86_rev2.zip. It only shows:
[ List Files ] [ Delete ]
Version was 1.05 (I think that's what the version was originally on cpanel/fantastico) and I upgraded through Admin Center to 1.07. File rights are 777 and it installed without errors. :(
Redpin with your topic as others around I was a bit concerned.
I realized that altough I have done a lot of installs including quite a few alpha I had never really installed TP 0.86 in SMF 1.07 (only up to 1.06 and 1.1 RC2).
So I did a test in my PC and I get the message
"The package you are trying to download or install is either corrupt or not compatible with this version of SMF. "
I am really sorry for the inconvenience so far, I have to check it and inform Bloc. A fix for 1.07 might be needed.
Please be patient.
A possible solution until then might be to uninstall 1.07 upgrade, install TP then reinstall the upgrade.
Sorry!! I completely missed the "apply" and I was expecting something in the browse.. :idiot2: I uninstalled, reinstalled and saw the "apply", did so and I concur with the error after I applied... The package you are trying to download or install is either corrupt or not compatible with this version of SMF.
Thanks for the posts and help agridoc. :coolsmiley:
Have also a look at
NOTE!! If your package manager gives errors when install on 1.0.7 (http://www.tinyportal.net/smf/index.php?topic=5208.msg42382#msg42382)
Cheers for the help, i'll have ago at installing it manually
Could someone please direct me to the instructions for installing TP manually, as i couldn't find the text file inside the 'manual install package'. :o
If you could tell me the name of the text file then i'll be able to have another look for it
There are only two TXT files in the package.
TP_mod-instructions.txt has the necessary file modifications. Be careful with versions.
In general you will find these instuctions for any SMF package in *.mod files. In TP's case there are quite a few of theme as it contains also files for upgrading older TP installations.
You may find useful Manual Installation of Mods (http://docs.simplemachines.org/index.php?topic=402) from SMF 1.1 Online Manual (http://docs.simplemachines.org/).
here are the text file on what code to add in where.
But as agridoc said, be careful and read through what code to add for the correct version of SMF you have.
This textfile cover all versions of SMF
