Yeehah, I just got back from our local paper and they want us to do a full page section every other week. Fishing stuff. It's basically free reign for what we want to put in there but I am stoked.
They said they read our website regularly and want some great fishing information in the newspaper also.
So now I got a deadline. LOL.
I need to figure out what I am going to call the column though.
lol congrats on getting in your local newspaper!
Thanks.
I'm writing our very first article right now.
The section will be called The Reel Deal.
This is very exciting for all of us at WSA. I can't believe all of the opportunities that will open up for us because of this column.
We will get so much exposure for our next charity tournament. $1200 this year to charity. $12000 next year. :D
Thats awesome WSA! Congrats!!!
For the longest time I didn't realize where your site was focused (geographically). I live right next door to you in Utah. We have some great rivers here. I hope you've fished them. :)
You are a hop skip and a jump from us.
We had a bunch of WSA participants in the Catch a Cure fishing tournament down at Starvation a couple of weeks ago. We also head over to Powell quite often.
I haven't fished the rivers out there but it is definitely on my things to do. I drove through there last month on my way to Idaho and debated whether to drop a line into the Green River. Wife and daughter kind of prevent that type of random activity. :D
I definitely know that Utah is a great place to fish. Where are you in Utah. Grand Junction is only 25 miles from the Utah border.
We hooked up with http://www.Flyfishradio.com which is based out of SLC for a banner exchange. If you have ability to listen to podcasts, than that show they have is awesome.
I live in Salt Lake City. We are currently doing a lot of work in Grand Junction though... so I might be able to make a visit there. If I could give you any fishing advice for Utah I would have to suggest going to the Green River just below the damn at Flaming George in the spring. They have Fishing guides that will take you down the river for the whole day and feed you lunch. It was about $150 bucks, but it was some of the most fun I have ever had fishing. The guides know every square inch of that river, how deep, and what they're eating. It really was a load of fun.
Our other good river is the Provo river. It's a great river very close to the city, but most of the time it is pretty busy.
Thanks for the link, I'll check out that site and the podcasts.
Cheers!
Definitely, let me know when you are out here. We'll get some beer and wings. Maybe more wings than beer though. ;) I am a hot wing junkie.
Great news wsa :)
And for the column, wouldn't it be good to call it WSA weekly
