Title: Install Failed / Image Missing
Post by: MzSnowleopard on July 08, 2006, 04:45:00 PM
I've done some investigating at is seems the problem is that the image divider.gif is missing from the file. Does anyone know where / how I can get a copy of this image?

copy(/home/dianne/public_html/smf/Themes/default/images/divider.gif): failed to open stream: Permission denied
File: /home/dianne/public_html/smf/Sources/Subs-Package.php
Line: 961

Hello MzSnowleopard, if you put "divider.gif " for search you will get quite a few results.

Change your ../Themes/default directory and subs to 777.

Missing files can be directly uploaded by FTP to corresponding dirs.

I'm following the instructions- even manually uploading the image and it still is giving me the denied message

Is the /Packages directory and contents set to 777?

Also, to make clear, your problem is that you can' t install TP?

yes the package directory is set to 777 and no it will not install the TP.

I'm going to try it on one of my other sites and see what happens.

gggrrrr

Thanks for trying to help me Agridoc-

In looking over the threads that came up on search it seems that the last resort solution is with the host / server company. And when I try talking to him- after getting a twenty minute lecture on his skills and his MLM scam sales pitch- I get "about that item... good luck with it."

GERK !!!!

Some people should just not be site hosts. :: sigh::

Don' t get disappointed, it needs some time to learn how to setup a server, depending on host limitations.

Setting up a dynamic site with PHP and MySQL is not that easy as an HTML site.

There are solutions for most hosts.

Try to find if your host runs PHP in safe mode. Search in SMF forum for STATUS.PHP file.

I can't get a straight honest answer out of him- all he wants to talk about is pushing me in to this scam of his with investing $ 1,000. I don't think this guy knows what he's doing with web hosting
