OK, I'm an idiot. I know how to install a theme but how do I install this tiny portal mod?

I found a file TP_mod-instructions.txt, do I need to perform these edits or will they be done automatically?

Install it right through your package manager.

Any suggestions on how best I can take advantage of Tiny Portal? I also have a WordPress blog on the site so I am going to try to put the feed in a box. What else?

I guess the best thing to do is just play around with it and see what you like.  Go into the Block Code Snippets section and poke around there.  A bunch of cool things you might look at adding.
