Hi guys, I am new to TP and new to SMF.
I have SMF installed fine all of with I have in a folder called forum. Now in my root dir is where I have put the TP files. I am trying to execute the tp-install.php and just get this error.

Also do I have to mod all the files first?

Try installing through the package manager first.
Ok I have selected it and uploaded but im not to sure what to do now? Sorry im a real newbie to this system so please be gentle :)
Once you've uploaded it, it will give you the option to apply the mod. Click "Apply" and if everything is OK it will give you a test install without errors. Then you can submit for final installation.
Hi ok I tried that and I just get this message.
"Install Actions for archive Tinyportal0_86_rev2.zip:
The package you are trying to download or install is either corrupt or not compatible with this version of SMF."

The download may have been corrupted. Try a new download and see if that helps. For a while TP wasn't working with 1.0.7 but I think that has since been fixed.
Ok I redownloaded, and reinstalled SMF. Im still having problem.
Is there any setting I should make sure I have filled in? CHMOD? I have done all that have been asked for on install.
Help please?
Try the TP_zip, if it doesn't work, use the manual install, Note: since your new at this, be sure to place each file in the correct Directory/folder..repeat if necessary. :)

What do you mean by the TP_zip?
I would just also like to confirm my directory structure is ok.
I have all the SMF files in a folder called 'forum' located in the root directory is that right?
Also when I upload the TP files where do they go? and do they have to be inside a folder?

- can't use the package manager? For you there exists a "files-only" zip, which you can upload to your SMF installation. Next you need to install the database tables for TP - that is done by uploading the "database-only" file and running it. Last you need to modify the files in SMF that TP modifies usually. There is an file attached that lines out what needs to be done in that case.
- for those upgrading from previous manual install, you need to run the database-only file first, then upload the TP files, and finally check what modifications are new - some are also redundant.
The files are already place in folder for you so all you have to do is upload the folders.
