Hi All :D
Just recently changed over to SMF and now running SMF 1.1 RC2.
A total newbie on installing things to the SMF packages, so just needed to check the quickest way and easiest/safest to install Tiny Portal.
Do you install it using the Package install? or do you have to do this manually? Forum is fine and stable at present, so want to make sure I tackle this in the right way from the start.
Chris
Use the packagemanager in SMF, Download the TinyPortal mod TPV.086 from here (downloadsection.
upload the zipfile through your package manager, and click on the install :) Thats about it.
IF!! you get any errors during the install, quit the install, and go for the manual install package instead, a bit more work, but just as good :)
Mm... I have downloaded it, and used the "package manager" to install it, however the front of the forum looks messed up a little but I think its just minor?
I dont have the forums listed with their sections?
plus next to the "more..." there should be an icon? (*) but its missing?
Chris
What theme have you set up as default?
You must have TP enabled themes to be able to use tiny portal
Test to set your forum to SMF default Core theme and see how it looks
I am using Blocs Enterprise, I think I needed to set up TP in the admin functions... Shame there is no "chat function" online! :D
Chris
Do you have Enterprise for TinyPortal ? or do did you have that installed before you installed TinyPortal? The SMF only Enterprice?
Also a link would be good so wee can see for better support
I downloaded the Enterprise_smf11rc2.zip file from here, before I had applied TP. The theme was installed first, then I downloaded TP.
I have just changed my profile on here so my WWW icon will point directly at the forum for you.
Chris
You have the wrong theme installed.
Uninstall that theme, and download this TP Enterprice instead, and install that, Then you should be good.
NOTE!! Make sure that BEFORE you install this theme, set the forum so you have the SMF DEFAULT theme there,
Here is the right version of the enterprise theme :)

Ok, thanks :)
1) Theme set back to SMF default
2) Uninstalled old Enterprise Theme
3) New Theme Installed.
Should be ok now.. :D
Looks better to me :)
Out of interest where do I get this cool smiley icons :D
Chris
Yes much better looks there now :)

Just wondered where "this set came from" and I wish there was a Star Trek Set? :)
If you search on google for smileys with startreck in the search terms, i guess you will find some of those to :)
I havent seen any like that though when i have searched around, but have to say i havent looked for that kind of smileys eather ;)

Admin/timyportal/Blocks/ShoutBox/ is where you find the settings for that :)

Cool .. thanks agridoc!
Out of interest (and not related to smileys)
If I use the Themes block in the setttings, I dont get anything displayed when its shown on the "home" page menu (where the blocks are displayed), dispite the fact I have the SMF and Enterprise TP versions installed
It' s just a link, Webby has done great work ^-^
A new theme must be selected in the TP general settings to be in the theme changer block list. By installation default or usually in upgrades only the default theme is selected. This is so programmed because a theme must be properly prepared to work with TP.
If you add more themes they will appear in the TP general settings list but they must be selected to be in the theme changer list too.
