hi

im attempting to set up an online store

now after much research i have 2 options narrowed down:

open source e-commerce scripts:

- Zen Cart (http://www.zen-cart.com)
- osCommerce (http://www.oscommerce.com)

which would users on TP recommend and why?

If anyone has experience using the above scripts your input will be of great help :D

U know thinking about it...im thinking ill go with oscommerce

why?

well Zen reminds me of "karma" and i absolutely dislike the karma system on SMF :p

Als zen reminds me of karma which reminds me of dharma which reminds me of the tv show dharma and greg which i also really disliked

So I think its a sign!

The theme shop here on TinyPortal uses the ZEN shop right now, I know Bloc is about to change that into his own shop scripts though. But i think ZEN both looks good and act really good when you want to buy something :)

yes i checked more in detail both scripts

seems zen has more functions than oscommerce

You need to add stuff(mods) to OsC, while Zen pretty much have everything already built-in. But its a tad slower than OsC.
