I think i have seen a mod on SMF forums , have a look there in the mod section :)

It' s otherwise called "tell a friend" script.

I see version 2.2 is released.

There are a lot of scripts around, some used as pop-ups.

One of these script is already avialiable in block snippets. I'd search around for it.
