Sometimes I think odd characters in your news can cause this. You have any news being displayed?

Disable the news and see if that fixes your problem. If it does, I think it has something to do with what you've put in your news.

ItÃƒâ€šÃ,Â´s strange that it gives the error on the news.
What theme are you using ? and do you have the news enabled and showing up correct ?
