Hi all. I have SMF 2.1.8 and Tinyportal 3.0.3. I've been using the SSI to display recent posts in a left block and everything seemed to work fine. Today I logged in to work on the site and I noticed the recent posts block now displays the content in a vertical line (see attached). I haven't changed any code or installed any mods. It only seems to affect the SSI functions. Any idea why this is happening?
*edit: I did use some html code to format the SSI in another block, but it didn't work like I wanted so I deleted it. Right now the forum is using blocks that have been there from the beginning.
*edit 2: I changed the block type to "Recent Topics" and it works fine now. But if I try to use an SSI function, the contents are displayed vertically like the picture.
Just tried a couple of the built in SSI functions on my test site, and both the Recent Posts, and Recent Topics display the same as in your image.
Not sure when they broke, but I do wonder since all the hosts have been switching and patching their PHP versions over the last few days due the a critical PHP Core vulnerability. I guessing it's causing a few issues with older code. That said, I have no idea if this SSI issue is related.
The SSI functions use the standard SMF SSI and their layouts. Standard SMF SSI functions use table layouts, which mean they do not show nice in narrow blocks. There are made to show full width, like so...
If that was showing nicer before, I am wondering how...
You can check the ssi_examples file on you own sites to check...

I was the problem. When I added the SSI in a html block I noticed the other block had a different setting, so I changed it. I changed the original block back and it works like it used to. I'm a dummy sometimes :P
Thanks all for the info.
@rjen, is there a way to format an SSI so I can show it in a block that isn't as wide? I've got 2 lower panel blocks (the lower panel is set for 2 columns), one is for top views and the other is for top posts. They almost fit, but cuts off the "Views" and "Replies".

*edit-Disregard. I'm reading the documentation now.
