Title: Membergroups question.
Post by: Paulie on March 23, 2006, 05:33:37 PM
Is there a way to disable the standard post membergroup, or is it somewhere in the settings and i missed it?

Why do you wanna disable it?

You can remove all of them, and then add one beginning on 0 posts...

I want to disable them, due to it being a school website, and the headmaster, i doubt would like the title of newbie :)

I guess i`ll just have to delete them.

You can't disable membergroups, but you can choose not to use post based membergroups.
By default, all members get put into the 'new' group, or whatever you have called it. But that will not prevent you from creating other groups and putting members there also.
Or you can edit the name.

Maybe i`ll have to think of some suitable new names/title to call them. Thanks Bob.

That's your answer, Paulie. If you disable these, then your Headmaster would be an Administrator or Global Moderator or whatever, but no one would go through the post based ranks. You wouldn't see Newbie, Jr. Member, etc.

You could then call the regular member group "Students" or something similar.

Good thought :)

So on another matter, how the hell do you now pronounce your new nic? "Twins times two daaaad to the power of three".

Still the same pronunciation.

I figured that with the proliferation of âââ,¬Å¾Ã,¢, ÂÃ,©, etc, I might as well flower mine up a bit.   :)

The power of three represents the three wonderful children I still have around. We lost my son's twin two years ago.   :(

Ugh...

I cannot imagine what that would be like. I have two daughters, and I know I would fall apart if I lost one of them. A friend of mine recently lost his only son (20 yrs old) to meningitis. I've seen what it has done to him, so I'd like to say sorry for your loss Twins.

Not an hour passes that I don't remember. It doesn't help that I still blame myself.

Sometimes, when it seems like I am being rather harsh online, it is because I have his picture on my desktop - and I remember.

Thanks for caring, guys.
