I have checked settings several times and looked in Features & Options, Server Settings, Membergroup Permissions,
as well as Tinyportal settings, Article and Category settings.
I need guests to be able to see two categories and the articles within, they are linked in the menu.
As a guest on a computer that has not logged in and previously loaded the article page:
* I can click on link
* address bar displays linked article page
* page does not load, stays on current page and browsers show broken link icon
If I register or log in, once logged in all the broken link articles now display correctly.
What have I missed?
or
Can someone help me find what I should be looking into?
What are your settings for what to display on the frontpage? A screenshot of the category permissions and a link to articles that aren't displaying for guests would help too.
I have only forum posts selected showing on home page.
For category and article settings I choose select all, so all groups including guests can see the articles.
The articles are linked in the menu, I have edited it to include buttons and sub-buttons for "About Us" and "Legends"
Under the "About Us" menu in sub-button list I can click on "Staff" (I have done this for the screenshots)
If I am logged in as any user or admin, I see the page reload and the article is displayed.
If I am a guest, I should be able to see the article still - but it changes the address to include a session ID and page number but does not display the article.
Try turning off
Admin > Configuration > Features and Options > General > Search engine friendly URLs
And see what happens.
awesome!
that did it!!!
I was wondering if it was something to do with how the address bar changed
thanks....
