Hi All.
I manually installed the portal TinyPortal but when I click on the panel administrator, it does not work.
The Admin panel is empty and on the left I see the menus listed wrong (News, Settings, Frontpage ... ).
How I can resolve the problem? thanks.
Sorry for my bad Eanglish
"Default Forum Language: Italian" that might be the problem. ;)
Have you installed the Italian language files for TP? http://www.tinyportal.net/index.php?action=tpmod;dl=item97
The Italian language has been installed.
Even if the language is English, the problem persists.
This is a screen of my problem.

Thank you.

I'm sorry but I'm not allowed to send messages. :-\
Leave me your email address.
Thank you.
ok, just had a look around. Looks like you've got in a muddle with things to be honest.
Can I ask why you did a manual install in the first place, and not via the package manager? I don't think some of the edits are correct, or there's files missing. There's no Tinyportal copywrite showing at the bottom of any themes.
Your error log has loads of errors, Tutti gli errori (221566) to be precise. over 14000 pages of them. :o To make matters worse, I can't view any of it in English, except for the tinyportal menus.
I notice you have Simple portal in the package manager, was this installed at some time before?
I think if it was me, I'd upload a fresh set of SMF files, and then reinstall the mods. But lets wait and see what the other support team members advise first please.
:) I'm not practical on SMF :)
The package manager does not work, and then installed the portal manually.
It 'possible that some changes are not correct. : P
Is there a way to cancel all changes and reinstall the portal again?
In the database that you just delete the tables, but in the file?
thank you very much for your help and for your patience.
Simple portal has never been installed. E 'was only one of the packets loaded but never used.
Did you run the do_hooks.php file? This file installs the hooks that TP ties into with SMF. That could be why the copyright doesn't show up amongst some other problems that could arise. A manual install would consist of uploading all TP files, run tp_upgrade.php for database, and run do_hooks.php to install hooks.

Brad, I ran the do_hooks.php file last night, and that fixed the copyright issue, but nothing else in TP works.

That's strange as the package manager works for me, although it does show loads of Tests Failed. see below. Is that what you meant by "does not work" ?
I do not know how to explain but, when I installed via the package manager, I clicked on the button and my browser (after a few minutes) showed me a blank page and the portal had not been applied.
That's why I did the installation manual.
A small clarification, the tp_upgrade did not work and I manually updated the database with an script.
There was an error on the table tp_settings (why not created)
(Sorry for my English).
Nikolai,
Do you have a backup of your forum and database from before you installed SMF 2.0.2 and TiyPortal? The 3 mods you are using, other than TinyPortal, may not be installed correctly or may not be compatible with SMF 2.0.2. I will be communicating with Lurkalot today and we will see if we can come up with some solutions for you. Two other questions though, you are on a Windows server, correct? Did your Forum work correctly before installing the latest version of SMF? Other question, have you ever setup a test forum for testing mods before installing to your live forum?
Oh, and yeah, what do you mean by this? In other words, what script are you referring to?

ZarPrime
Hi ZarPrime,
thank you for your support.
Yes, i have a backup of the 1.0 version.
The server is a windows server.
Before to use the large upgrade, my forum worked correctly. Worked fine also after installing the large upgrade with all the package.
I have another forum (version 2.0) with the portal installed (latest version).
I created the script for the tables from there and I eseguitosul my database. :-\
One question.
If I delete all tables used by the portal and run the large upgrade. Can I restore files? Or not?
Tahnk you all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)
Well, let me think about this for a minute. I'm having a little trouble understanding why the install didn't work correctly but it obviously didn't work right. You mentioned that you have another forum with SMF 2.0 and the portal installed. I assume you mean that your other forum has TinyPortal installed and working correctly, right? Is that other forum also on a Windows server?
Your last question at the bottom of your post is a good question. You said "If I delete all tables used by the portal and run the large upgrade. Can I restore files? Or not?" So, let me ask you this. On this forum that you have given us the link to, have you ever had TinyPortal installed or is this the first time you have tried it? I have a feeling that you've never had it installed. If that is the case, then you wouldn't lose anything by deleting the tables and we could start over.
Let's see if we can get Lurkalot and Ichbin back in here to comment on that. My thinking is that since you have a backup of your forum from SMF 1.0 (Is that the version of the backup or is it something like 1.1.16?), it might be better to go ahead and revert the database and files back to that backup and then start over again with a fresh install of SMF 2.0.2. Once that is done, we can install the latest TinyPortal first before any of the other 3 mods and see if we can get you going on this. Anyway, let's see what Lurkalot and Ichbin have to say about this. I am being careful about this because I really don't have much experience with installing either SMF or TP on a Windows server.
ZarPrime
:)
Yes, the portal works well in the other forum. The other forum is installed on windows server.
In this forum (forum.gruasc.it) is the first time that i install the portal.
If we restore my backup (made on September 13), I lose everything done so far though, right?
Tanky you.
Hi all.
I did some tests and I think I got a good result.
I just did this: I installed a local version of smf 2.0.2 without the portal and i connected it to the online DB used by forum.gruasc.it
I've noticed that works well eliminating everything related to the portal.
Then I collected all the local files TinyPortal change and I have exported the online forum.
Now it seems that the forum features.
What do you say? I did well or have only made things worse?
Sorry for my bad english...
Tank you.
I'm back :)
I tried again to install the mod via the package manager.
Unfortunately, like the other times, when I click on [Install Mod], the browser starts loading and at the end does nothing (timeout). Do not charge me the list of files with different tests and I see a blank page.
But why? : (

Thanks for taking a look Zar. I've not had anything to do with a windows server either to be honest. ;) Looks like restoring the site has cured some some of the errors at least.

The package manager worked for me yesterday, but not now that you've restored your backup. It's now giving me a http 500 error. That's a server issue as far as I'm aware. You don't see this using Firefox you will get a blank page. Use IE9 and you'll see the error below,.
The website cannot display the page HTTP 500
Most likely causes:
•The website is under maintenance.
•The website has a programming error.
