what am I doing wrong??
I uninstalled RC3, ran update with package manager... SMF2 test site updated without a hitch but 1.1.16 does not , it gives me:
"The package you tried to upload either is not a valid package or has become corrupted."
The package could not have corrupted after updating in 2.0 forum could it?
fortunately they are test sites right now
OK I reported the same... but no one should have problems, because it should not install! So let's give Brad a chance for a look see! :)

maxx
sorry maxx, I did a quick check to see if anyone else had trouble and did not see the post....darn cataracts...lol
usually when something goes wrong with me it is usually me and not the software. Been having troubles with sometimes mods doing that to me when the literature states it is for either 1.1.6 or 2.0
There was a problem with the zip file that was causing problems for the SMF1.x install. I've since updated the zip. Try the download from here or SMF if you are still having problems.
YAY test forum is happy now using TP RC4 but even though it updated I did get this message:
Execute Modification ./Sources/ManagePermissions.php Test failed
took a look at the file but I sure don't see what it wants in there. Otherwise it appears to be installed right.
Thanks
It probably means that you have someother mod or old TP code in that file, and when the tp install is looking for a place to put in the code, it cant find it as the code have changed allready.
i have not a clue but will check it out and see...otherwise it is running like it should too...go figure
Check to see if TP permissions shows. That is where TP adds the permissions IIRC.
if you mean back in admin and showing the TinyPortal menu of different "targets" to be able to do ...yes they all show
and seem to function right too, all settings and everything for each section shows
On my SMF 1.14 site it installed without any issues, however I un installed and delete the older version of TP first. I think if you are running it and all is working then you should be good to go..
Just a Note that if you have to un install the RC4... check first to see if you get errors in red and report them before you go any further! to avoid any possible failure.
Did you get to check the error log, after install?

Maxx
No I'm referring to the permissions as in "Manage Articles" or "Manage blocks" which should be in the member group permissions for each group.
@IchBin:
yup all permissions are listed in the permissions area for each group and TP
@maxx:
Me too, I always uninstall the previous version then install the new one...the only errors that were in the log were the ones from when I was trying to do something after the installation and not related to the packages or tp at all...weird
and then after I cleared the log Saturday when I got done there are no other errors to be found back there.
tested just incase with my own and the tester account too and still no errors in log
