Hi, I have ran SMF 1.1.x and TP 0.9.8 for many years. I am upgrading to SMF 2.0 and I want to know if that's a good way to simply uninstall TP?
I actually don't think there was an Uninstall option for TP 0.9.8 in SMF 1.1.x. But I have already ran the 2.0 upgrade in a test environment and it seems to uninstall TP completely.
So, my real question is can I remove all of the TP file directories and TP database tables now without any negative effects?
Thanks for any answers.
Any time you upload a fresh set of SMF files like during the SMF1 -> SMF2 upgrade, all the files are replaced. Thus erasing any trace of TP in the SMF files. Removing TP files and database will not cause any issues unless you install TP again expecting to maintain your articles, blocks, and TP settings.
The current version of TP has several bugs in it since I did all the database query conversion stuff for SMF2. I'd suggest you take a look at installing it on your test site to make sure you are capable of dealing with these issues. I've posted fixes for every problem that I've seen posted I think, so a quick search for any errors you run into should lead you to the small code changed needed to fix any bugs.
Thanks for the info man. I only used TP for the php blocks to throw up a few important links. I am not planning on installing TP again so I should be good to go.
Thanks for your hard work on this project.
