You don't need to extract the files, install it through the package manager.

Admin, Packages > Download Packages > you can use a url, or upload from your machine.

Its problem too. When I install from package manager and all test success but after install, it comes error:

Error in Package Installation
At least one error was encountered during a test installation of this package. It is strongly recommended that you do not continue with installation unless you know what you are doing, and have made a backup very recently. This error may be caused by a conflict between the package you're trying to install and another package you have already installed, an error in the package, a package which requires another package that you don't have installed yet, or a package designed for another version of SMF.

And it tell me there is parse error:

Execute Modification SMF2/tinyportal200rc4.mod Modification parse error

What you know how to solve this? Thanks

Kozley,

Read this post --> http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=27642.msg3044471#msg3044471

Is that the error you are having?

If so, do what is says to do in this post --> http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=27642.msg3044733#msg3044733

Let us know if that works.

That's usually a server error from what I can tell. Try uploading the files into a folder inside the Packages/ directory instead of uploading the zip. Then try to install again.

Not "uploading the file" but rather "Try uploading the files into a new tinyportal folder inside the Packages/ directory instead of uploading the zip.".  In other words, extract the zip file first before uploading the files into the new tinyportal folder you created inside the Packages/ directory.

1.  Create a tinyportal folder in the Packages folder and navigate to it --> Packages/tinyportal/
2.  Extract the TP archive onto a temp folder on your local computer.
3.  Upload all of the files from the extracted TP zip file from the temp folder on your local computer to the Packages/tinyportal/ folder on your site.
4.  Now try the install.

Edit:  Modified post for correct information from Ichbin

Okay, I followed what u said. When I extract TP to the temp folder on my local computer to the Packages/temp folder and I look on package manager and there is not installation so I try to upload zip file on package manager and install it, it success but configure doesnt wrote. Shall I edit manually?

You should not upload the files to the temp directory. Create a directory called tinyportal inside the Packages/ directory. Upload all TP install files into the Packages/tinyportal/ directory. Then you should see an install link from within the admin panel. Try the install that way. If you still have the same problem, you will have to install manually unless you know how to troubleshoot why your server is not allowing these changes to take place.

Thank you for fast reply.

I see there is install link but I got parse error:

1. Extract Tree ./Themes
2. Extract Tree ./Themes
3. Extract Tree ./Sources
4. Extract Tree ./tp-downloads
5. Extract Tree ./tp-images
6. Extract Tree ./tp-files
7. Execute Modification SMF2/tinyportal200rc4.mod Modification parse error
8. Adapt Database SMF2/tp_upgrade.php

Yes, that means your server security configuration will not allow the mod to install. You'll have to seek help from your host or install the mod manually.

Okay, Im trying to solve problem myself. I have found a thread on smf forum, there tells me that safe mode in apache conf file needs to be disable and I dont know where I find the conf file but thread is old: http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=73458.msg970523#msg970523 (http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=73458.msg970523#msg970523)

OK, I changed my earlier post for the information Ichbin posted.

If safe mode is on you should see it on a php_info() page.

Put this in a file called phpinfo.php
<?php
phpinfo
();
?>

Upload that file to your site, then broswe to the file in your browser. It should show you on that configuration display page whether safemode is on.

I too am having the same exact errors and problems, and have tried creating a new directory within Packages.

This error is initially appearing in the error log;

2: ini_set() has been disabled for security reasons

Actually I fixed the ini_set() being disabled via the php config...

I'm still getting this error:

2: opendir(/h/tr/public_html/testsite/Packages/temp/common/tp-images) [<a href='function.opendir'>function.opendir</a>]: failed to open dir: No such file or directory

Once you make the change to your php.ini file , you need to restart Apache or Which ever web server you are using.

The key was the ini_set() being disabled.

Hope this isnt repetative and helps.
