Page this was on: http://www.reenactor.net/forums/index.php/page,164.html (http://www.reenactor.net/forums/index.php/page,164.html) But I fixed it, as noted. I tried on another, WORKING book page and as soon as the edit window opened, BAM, it threw all the garbage in there :tickedoff:
Related Error messages: This is NOT cool. I have used this iframe book code for years and even if they (amazon) modify it, it works. For some reason, now (as in today) when we edit a book page, it is adding bits of crap code to the edit page and if we save it... it's screwed. I have to search and replace it in GoLive, then, paste in over the old code in the edit window and save. :tickedoff: WHAT a PAIN in the butt. Any ideas? My assistant is in Cali, I am in Penna. That noise you hear is ME banging my head on solid objects. >:(
Here is the code (I will leave mod list at bottom):

I'm pretty sure this is fixed in the next version. But just to make sure... What type of block are you using? Assuming HTML/javascript block?
Just to be clear, it save originally the first time without a problem. But when you edit the block that's when all the characters are changed?
Yes, that's what it does. Yes, just html and whatever the iframe code is. It is in a single article. I think it's just a center block. On most web pages, i don't have lots of diff blocks. My site is complicated enough now... Is there a workaround? It was working fine until the other day.
Try this topic and see if it helps.

Alas, no :(
Are you saving the code in the editor's edit mode or code mode? If they editor is showing you need to click the <> button to get into code mode. You should then enter the iframe code and save.
Code, of course. ::) I am not as think as everyone stupids I am... nah, I edit code w/ code. Anyway, the editor doesn't work that well and we've been having LOTS of problems w/ the images not showing. I have to go in and put the full path to them :-( AM hoping dragooon gets done w/ his exams to fix my fckeditor -- I know, you don't like it, but it IS necessary for my people... many of who do not know any coding. I digress...
Actually, the only way I got it to work was to edit it in something else, doing search and replaces to fix code and then pasting straight in to code window and hitting "save." Very irritating...
Is this on reenactor.net? I can't remember the password on my account there. Can you reset it to something and send me an email or PM so I can test this out on your site? I can't replicate the issue ATM.
Yes, it is. But I'm off to WWI this eve and am slammed. Have to pack and get dogs to kennel. :D Will reset it Sunday, is that cool?
Sounds good, will wait to here from you then.
I had no problems putting that code in Marsh. I created a new HTML block only visible to admins which is titled "Itch's Block". I copied and pasted your code into the editor while in code mode without problems. I then saved it again to make sure it wasn't a problem with editing and it was still just fine. The block is still visible for you to check out.
I think I forgot to say it was in articles. :-[ :o Try articles>1870-1900>1870-1900 Reading List/Store or articles>Ancient Period then subcat: Roman>Roman Reading List and Bookstore Open those, then look at code. PLEASE don't save them though if you open them, as the & in the code will turn to the code for it.
Does that make sense? Yeah, I got a lot of articles. And did you like how the block page blinks 3-4 times as it's loading all the blocks...
Ok I created "Brad's Test article" in your stuff category. I can add the amazon code you posted fine. I can even edit the code and it works fine. I realize the "&" is converted to "&", but it still works with it. Can you elaborate on your problem with that?
The block page blinks? Must be the browser you're using or something. Doesn't happen here for me on Chrome.

I will look. What happens is that when it converts the "&" in the code to "&" it breaks the amazon code and all you see is a window of ugly orange boxes. I will go and get the code from a book page and make a new page so you can see. It is frustrating.
I am trying HARD not to use creative obscenities here. I put that code in your page and now... it works. YET, when I did it on the normal 1870-1900 Reading page, it puts the ugly orange box for ALL the iframes. I am at a loss. Going to bed. This is classic mechanics syndrome wherein you take a car to a mech and it behaves... :tickedoff:
