I have disabled all the permission settings for Regular members (e.g. Can submit HTML articles), but the links are stilll appearing when a regular member goes to their profile. Please see picture attached (portalsummary).
I have checked all the related settings, but cannot find any other TP settings that I can adjust

Hello sona67, I've not been around for a while and TP has been updated since I was last here, so I may be offering an irrelevant answer.. But, are these or this particular member in another additional Group? It might be a Post Count Group that they are in that is overriding the Regular Group that they're in.
Check the Post Count Group permissions. Also, to get an overview of all site Permissions, go to: Admin Panel > Maintenance > Generate Reports. You might find the problem by looking there.
Hi Zetan, thanks for the suggestion no matter what :)
I checked it out, there's nothing on enabling/disabling of TP permissions in the reports or groups
I don't remember if it's just a quirk of the software, in that the Articles link is always visible. I don't think that's the case though.
Without actually looking at the site and permissions, I have only have 2 screenshots to look at from one membergroup.
Attached more screenshots for you to see :)
One more screenshot based on Post count groups
Hope its of use to narrow down the problem.
Thanks!
Under your Groups Permissions, you either haven't captured the TP permissions in the screenshot, or they're missing.
You should have TP permissions like:
- tp_*********
- tp_*********
- tp_*********
- tp_articles:
- tp_*********
- tp_*********
- ..etc
It may not be a permissions conflict at all, but I don't see those in your screenshots?
I'm not aware there should be TP permissions there :o
Funny thing is I'm not getting any errors. How can I fix it?
Well, they certainly are on my site. My TP version (TinyPortal v.1.0.6 beta) is older than yours because I've only just recently re-opened my website and I haven't updated that package yet. But I'm assuming that area hasn't changed. My site is running the same SMF version.
Do you have any missing text in the admin panel? This was an old issue with Languages and UTF-8 and there is a guide for it stickied in this board that I wrote. The only other thing I can suggest is that you run through the Manual Install Guide and check that all the files were edited correctly by the TP install. Other than actually having a look around your site, I've nothing else to add right now.
Thanks for the advise. :)
I checked out the Manual Install Guide, and found that during the installation, TP didn't replace the following code. But it still doesn't fix the problem.
$_REQUEST['sa']($memID);
if(isset($_GET['tpmodule']))
{
global $boarddir, $db_prefix;
// prefix of the TP tables
$tp_prefix = $db_prefix.'tp_';
$request = db_query("SELECT modulename,autoload_run FROM {$tp_prefix}modules WHERE active=1 and profile = '" . $_GET['sa'] . "'", __FILE__, __LINE__);
if(mysql_num_rows($request)>0)
{
$what=mysql_fetch_assoc($request);
mysql_free_result($request);
// load the appropiate source file
if(file_exists($boarddir .'/tp-files/tp-modules/' . $what['modulename']. '/Sources/'. $what['autoload_run']))
{
require_once($boarddir .'/tp-files/tp-modules/' . $what['modulename']. '/Sources/'. $what['autoload_run']);
}
}
$_GET['sa']($memID);
}
else
$_REQUEST['sa']($memID);
I attached a screenshot of my folder structures (on FTP).
I believe I have the TP permissions, please see the attached pictures too.
Thanks!
Ok, well that's a start then. Did you have any Warning messages on install of TP?
The language settings look ok as all the text links are there.
Have you gone through every file that TP edits? Once you're satisfied that all the files are correct, as per the guide. Then, if you haven't already, you need to go back and check the things I suggested earlier.
No warnings. After "Applying the Mod", there's a pop up saying the installation was successful.
Yup, gone through all the files. I checked for double replacement/editing too, since I installed and re-installed at least 2 times (because I had problems with the language files previously). But all subsequent re-installations did not prompt any error messages. Currently there are no error messages in the forum log file too
Although it's harmless for the TinyPortal links (i.e.Portal Summary and Articles) to appear in the "Regular Members" profile, I hope to remove it to make things look cleaner and before I start installing a few more mods........Meanwhile I'll be thinking what else I can do. If you think of something, let me know :D
Sorry if this is a dumb question
Looking at the permissions, I see that basically TP offers the admin to turn on/off the Manage/Edit/Upload/Submit of Articles/Blocks/Files (see attached picture) but there's no option to turn off the disable the options on a member account profile (based on my understanding).
The URL, TP features available on the Member's profile are basically to see the portal summary and articles (which I have not uploaded/created any)....which leads me to think that there's no setting to turn this off. Please correct me if wrong. :)
http://domain.com/profile/?u=12;sa=tp_summary (portal summary)
http://domain.com/profile/?u=12;sa=tp_articles (articles)
I don't believe that there is any way to turn off the TP Summary and TP Articles links in your member's profiles. Those links simply show the number of articles and uploads that the member has made. There is nothing that can be edited or changed by the member. If they haven't submitted any articles or uploaded any files via the TP Download Manager, then the numbers for each of those will just show zero for each. For instance, if you look at those links on my profile here, you'll see the articles and uploads that I have done and the TP Articles link will actually show any articles that I have done.

I did suggest that this may be a "quirk" of the software earlier, but I have no way to test that on my site with the current permission I have set. There's lots of SMF / TP sites that have the Admin menu button displayed, but it does nothing if you're not in the Admin Group.
I think you'll just have to live with it.
Yeah there are no checks for those links in the profile. They always show regardless. Feel free to add to bugtracker anyone. Not sure how or if they can be fixed, but it's worth a looksy. :)
Zar, I can't see your profile. I guess it's restricted access :)
Zetan, yup I get your drift. I have a Aeva Media mod, and it does removes all the links from the User account profile, but I'm no good in coding, so I don't know whether is it possible based on TP codes.
IchBin, I know you got lots of stuff to do, so it's just a bonus for us users if you can remove the settings. I feel that without those 2 links, it will provide better surfing experience for the forum user (of course it's not hell alot of "feel good factor" lol), but it could remove any user frustration clicking on a meaningless link, and letting the user better navigate the profile or forum...Just my 2 cents :D

Yeah, I just checked it and you are correct, it is restricted access. I'll have to discuss this with the Team.
On being able to turn those links off, I really don't see this as high priority. After all, it's only informational and it really does serve a purpose. For instance, if one of your members wants to see all the articles that a specific member wrote, these links give them a list of them. Is the ability to turn these off really necessary?
ZarPrime
Yes I agree it's not necessary. Probably it will be of use later when I add in articles, but definitely not in the near future.
It just kind of stand out for me...like 2 strands of white hair lol.
To be honest, of all the things to be concerned about, this really isn't one of them. It bothers you, but I doubt your members care either way.
