Title: How frontpanel will be shown with content
Post by: mariusfv on March 24, 2011, 09:54:24 PM
Hi,
What to display on frontpage: Selected topics only (or promoted...)
How frontpanel will be shown with content:
1.Hide frontpanel, unless otherwise selected.
2.Frontpanel will be added before content
3.Frontpanel will be added after content

There is an option to show the forum post on first page(promoted/or forum posts) expanded not just -> unless otherwise selected ??
I try all the option but show only 1 forum post expanded and for the others post is just the title(ugly for me).

I want to show all the posts expanded on first page!

10x in advance!

In the front page settings page you can change the amount of characters to show by change the setting "Number of characters to display per forum-post" to 0. Zero disables the character limit.

10q this solve that problem.

I have few question's please:
In Tinyportal->Settings->Frontpage is the option: Picture + Article 2 what look great on frontpage, the question's is:
1. can be replaced the displayed picture(the newspapers picture) ?
2. can be that picture resized ?
3. can be that picture removed permanently ?
If so, can you tell me how ?

10x in advance!

mariusfv,

Is this the image you are talking about? --> (https://www.tinyportal.net/Themes/default/images/tinyportal/TPno_illustration.gif)

If so, that image is located at the following place in your site --> YourSite/Themes/default/images/tinyportal/TPno_illustration.gif (replace YourSite with your own)

It's a 128 X 128 px image.  There is no particular reason why you couldn't backup that file and upload your own TPno_illustration.gif to the same location.  Also, I don't believe that anything in the code specifies the size for it so you could probably upload a 64 X 64 px image to replace it, as long as you are replacing it with another gif image.

You could try this.  If you have any problems with it, let us know and we'll see if we can help further.

Hi,

Yes, is about that image, I understand what you told me.
Can be removed permanently that image, to not use any image?... or I must edit some code too ?

I honestly don't know.  If you try it, let us know.  My guess is that, if you are using that particular layout "Picture + Article 2", you may get broken images for each post or article.  If that happens, just try one of the other layouts that doesn't show the "Picture".

If it's a gif you could try replacing that image with a 1x1 pixel transparent gif and that would appear to remove it but rather sneakily you would infact be showing a very small and invisible graphic.

That is the alternative listing icon that should be able to be changed when you edit the article. You can add icons in the article to have additional options. Select a new image and save the article, or upload a new picture.
