Title: Error installing Tinyportal at SMF 2.0RC5
Post by: ph0enX on March 24, 2011, 06:23:14 AM
Dear TP-Comm.!

I've got a huge problem. I am running this clan Forum site wot.c23.at and had to update my forums from 2.0RC4 to RC5 and through this I lost my portal.

Now that I wanted to re-install it I am facing a problem.

The install runs through and the window with "Thanks for trying Tinyportal" appears. But there has been no change to the frontpage and I don't have a new Tinypotal Button.

In my modifications liste there is Tinyportal listed and green (active) but I don't see it.
I was tring to manual install it but dunno hot to do it with the actual Package. (In this archive there era some folders like: common, SMF1, and SMF2RC2 - RC4)

I registered here because I don't know how to get any further.

ATM I am using Simpleportal but it's not my old Tinyportal which looks way better. I hope you guys can help my I am frustrated..

Thanks in advance

I just got the portal to work, but the next problem just appeared.

I can't set the shoutbox to be active. I can Edit it and I can see the last shouts in the "TinyPortal" Menu, but I can't add it as a block to the portal. I also just reinstalled the whole forum.

I just can't add it. There's only the possibility to add a "TPmodule" but this is an empty block.

Pleas I dunno what to do.. all works but the shoutbox doesnt.

Thanks in advance

Under the option to select TPModule as the block type you should see the TPShout radio button if the shoutbox is enabled.

Ah maaan. OMG I am this blind already now it works thanks... but another little devil sneaked in...

In the online List there are the Users shown with their avatars and not with their names, though i checked the option "Show avatars: NO"

No matter if I check yes or no I always see the avatars and not the names

Can you be more specific where you are seeing the online users? IS this in an online block? A recent topics block? The user block?

Ah, sorry.

Of course thisis the Online Block, where all users are shown that are online at the moment. It can be seen on the portal on the left side.

on my side it has the title "Fahrer".

The users online block only shows the text for how many users and guests are online. If you want usernames you'll have to change the code in TPsubs.template.php in the tpo_whos() function.

foreach($avy as $a => $av)
echo '
<a class="avatar_single2" title="'.$names[$a].'" href="' . $scripturl . '?action=profile;u='.$a.'">' . $av . '</a>';

That is the part that adds the avatar with the name in the title of the link. You can juse that same variable to add the name under the avatar or something depending on how you want it displayed.

Ah.. OK... but it was much easier.

// TPortal onlineblock
function TPortal_onlinebox()
{
global $context, $settings, $options, $txt;

if($context['TPortal']['useavataronline']==1)
tpo_whos();
else
echo '
<div style="line-height: 1.4em;">' , ssi_whosOnline() , '<>';
}

The option that toggles the "Show avatar: YES / NO" option seems to be errorous.
It just didn't set the option from
Quoteif($context['TPortal']['useavataronline']==1)
to
Quoteif($context['TPortal']['useavataronline']==0)

Thanks for your help. Now all my problems are solved for the moment  O0
