shoutUnable to load the 'main' template.
I am not sure if this is an error with the RC5 or not. I can add the shoutbox but it is empty. I searched and found several posts regarding this but none that are current. I tried the steps listed anyway but still I have no working shoutbox. Also when I go and try to save changes in the block or add a new block it wont let me save the code. Such as for calendar. I grabbed the code for a working calendar block here and it will not allow me to save the new PHP code in the block. It goes to a blank page with HTTP Error 406 http://www.canesforum.com/index.php?action=tpadmin. Any ideas? Should I just hold off until TP is upgraded to work with RC5?
Phil
Phil,
I have set up and Test site that, I started new and 1.13 and upgraded to RC5, to test themes and Portals, and I then installed Tp and got an error also, but as we speak I think they are working on this....Works great on RC4 with all themes tested by me!
This is why I'm holding off updating my RC4 to 5 and I'm sure they may have a work around or manual install, I saw on the SMF site they have an RC5 parse for the coding but, I shall wait a while to see ...but we probably need to wait to see what SMF is up to also, Don't know.
I think in a while someone will get back at you on this!
regards,
Maxx
There are no known issues with the shoutbox like this that i'm aware of. I'd suggest going through the manual install and making sure that all the files have been properly edited, as well as all the files that TP uploads are present.
The error you get when trying to save code could be a server configuration error. 406 means the server does not accept the request. I'd speak with your host and ask them why.
Most of the blocks will save. But calendar doesnt work either. I can add some blocks to my site that are malfunctioning if you would like to take a look.
Phil
There's really nothing I can do just by viewing the blocks. I'm assuming you mean calendar block from the block option to copy the block code into the block? Yeah, that is a bug I'm aware of. I think to fix it you can open Themes/default/TPortalAdmin.template.php and go to this line:
<textarea style="width: 94%;" name="tp_block_body" id="tp_block_body" rows="15" cols="40" wrap="auto">' , htmlentities($context['TPortal']['blockedit']['body']), '</textarea>
And change it to this:
<textarea style="width: 94%;" name="tp_block_body" id="tp_block_body" rows="15" cols="40" wrap="auto">' , $context['TPortal']['blockedit']['body'], '</textarea>
Thanks I will try that change for the calendar tomorrow. I am beat tonight :)
Here I added a screenshot of the shoutbox. Notice that its there it just doeant have anything in it.

What type of block do you have set for the shoutbox block? Can you take a screen shot of that page when you edit the block?
Here is the settings

Settings look ok. Have you looked at the server error_log? If you can't find this log on your server, you'll need to ask your host for it. There's usually a link for it in the CPanel as well. See if there is anything in there that could be useful.
Nothing in the cpanel error logs. But I get this everytime I go into the main page

Ok I just moved it to the upper panel and it is now working. Very odd
Cant get it working on frontpage bu tthats ok upper panel is fine. Can we change the way it display's the shouts the bubble display takes up too much room and looks annoying :)
Phil
You can change it to whatever you would like. The code is in the last function in the TPShout.template.php file in the default Theme directory.
The gamerzFile error is from either another mod or theme you have. If you want to see where the real error is thrown you have to disable template eval in the SMF Admin > Server Settings page.
I have been playing with the code some. I cant seem to get the shout all on one line. I am sure ill get it though. When I have some more time I will see about tracking down why it doesnt work on frontpage panel.
