Chris, sorry to hear you're having problems.

Now I'm assuming all was well with SMF 1.1.12 before you installed TP.

Was there any errors or warnings while you were installing Tinyportal?   Have you tried it with the default theme?

Edit: I realise you can't change the theme because you can't get to admin.  :-[ But I've viewed your site with the default them, and it makes no difference.  So ignore my last question.  ;)

hi and thanks. There wasn't any problems before i installed tp no.

No warnings or anything, this is quite strange tbh.

I cant get to the default theme or even my cpanel to try uninstall tp to see if that is the problem.

My bad, I edited my post above at the same time you were posting. Sorry.

Yes this is a strange one, not seen it before myself.  Hopefully Zarprime, or IchBin will come along with a solution for you.

As admin you can change the theme (temporarily) by adding the theme id to your url. theme=1 is the default theme. Do go to your admin panel hitting the default theme you can do this:
http://www.vigilancegamingalliance.com/index.php?action=admin;theme=1

I didn't have any problems just a moment ago navigating through your site.

Chris,

For some reason, there is some sort of very strange redirect happening on your site that I've never seen before.  Are you sure that you have no other SMF Mods installed besides TinyPortal?  I know of at least one thing you have installed, Ajax Chat.  You may indeed have other Mods installed, one or more of which may be causing this problem.

Do this -->  Logout of your Forum.  Then log back in.  After you are successfully logged in as an Admin, clear out the address bar at the top of your browser and paste the following into the address bar and hit the enter key on your keyboard ...

http://www.vigilancegamingalliance.com/index.php?action=packages

This should put you into the Package Manager on you site.  Make a list of all your packages and post it here in your next reply.

i cant logout, same thing happens. it just refreshes.

i cant even log in as admin, everything i do just refreshes the page but the address bar changes.

I have ajax chat, but cant remember the others, i only have about 4 installed and they have never given me a problem the weeks they have been installed.

Thanks.

Can you get into FTP, (filezilla) or other? can you access your hosting control panel?

If so you can check what other mods are installed by going to the package folder in your main forum directory.

Let us know if you can do this!

OK, besides what Lesmond mentioned ...

Open up a new browser window.  Paste this into the address bar and hit enter ...

http://www.vigilancegamingalliance.com/index.php?theme=1

That will change you to the default SMF theme.  Then close that window and open up another blank one.  Paste this into the address bar ...

http://www.vigilancegamingalliance.com/index.php?action=admin

You should get a warning saying that "You aren't allowed to administrate this forum".  From that screen you should be able to login as Admin.  Don't click any of the menu buttons at the top of your Forum.  They aren't working right.  The problem is that any button you click on your menu bar has this weird redirect added to the end of your url (/index.php)

Clicking "Home" gives you --> http://www.vigilancegamingalliance.com/index.php?action=forum/index.php
Clicking "Forum" gives you --> http://www.vigilancegamingalliance.com/index.php?action=forum/index.php?action=forum
Clicking "Help" gives you --> http://www.vigilancegamingalliance.com/index.php?action=forum/index.php?action=help
Clicking "Search" gives you --> http://www.vigilancegamingalliance.com/index.php?action=forum/index.php?action=search
Clicking "Login" gives you --> http://www.vigilancegamingalliance.com/index.php?action=forum/index.php?action=login
Clicking "Register" gives you --> http://www.vigilancegamingalliance.com/index.php?action=forum/index.php?action=register
Clicking "Chat" opens up another window at this url --> http://www.vigilancegamingalliance.com/chat/index.php?action=forum/chat/index.php

The problem is that these are not valid url's.  In each case above, the url's are being rewritten to something that they should not be rewritten to.  I can't think of anything in TinyPortal that would cause this to happen.  Perhaps one of the other Team Members here has a clue or has seen something like this in the past and they will respond.

The first thing I would do is post over at SimpleMachines dot org in the board where they do support on SMF 1.1.12 to see if any over there has any clue as to what might be causing this issue.

The next thing I would consider doing, if you backed up your Forum and Database before upgrading to SMF 1.1.12, is to revert to your previous install.  If you didn't backup, you might check with your host to see if you can get them to revert your site back with one of their backups.

The third thing I would consider doing, if all else above fails, is to download the "Large Upgrade" package for either SMF 1.1.12 or SMF 2.0 RC4 and apply the upgrade to see if that fixes things or makes it worse.  If you are going to do this, follow through the steps on this page at SMF to do it --> http://docs.simplemachines.org/index.php?board=3.0;sort=subject

That one above will wipe out all of your addons and should give you a clean site, after which you can reinstall TinyPortal first.

I tried registering on your site but I can't even begin to do so because visual verification is enabled for registration and that's not working correctly either.

OK, so repair_settings.php worked for that poster I guess.  Worth a shot.  Click below ...

What is repair_settings.php? (http://docs.simplemachines.org/index.php?topic=663.0)

OK also found this..

QuoteChange the forum address in the settings.php file from http://www.vigilancegamingalliance.com/index.php?action=forum to http://www.vigilancegamingalliance.com

That would also be changed if you run repair_settings.php too
