*How do i change width of the side panels
Go to TPAdmin and click the panels icon. The left and right panels have a setting that says "Width of this panel:"

I'm not sure what you mean by "custom html blocks". You can have html blocks. Click this link --> http://talesofthehavenexpanse.com/smf2test/index.php
This is one of my test sites. The second block down in the left panel (Translate) is an html block.

Go to the Edit page for the block. Scroll down until you see "Choose where the block should appear." Uncheck everything in this area except "Frontpage" and then save. Voila, the block will only be on the FrontPage.

Thanks ZarPrime, i have now got a problem with shoutbox, no text displays only the white thing and when i shout it reloads the sites page although not sure if this should happen ???
Trax,
{Ha Ha}. OK, there is text there in the white thing. It's just that the text is the same color as the bubble. This can be a problem when using a dark theme. However, there is a fix. Read this topic I am giving you a link too, especially the 2 posts on the second page by Maxx (very informative). It will tell you how to fix this. I'm not sure what you mean by "it reloads the sites page". Do you mean that when you click "Shout" after putting your text in the text box above it, the page reloads? If so, that's normal behavior for the Shoutbox module. The only way it wouldn't reload is if the Shoutbox used Ajax which it does not do.
