Hi,
I have a problem parsing the BBC tags of this modules at the frontpage of Tinyportal. In the forum it work correctly, but at the frontpage it doesn't. The installation guide for this is here: http://wiki.wowhead-tooltips.com/install:smf . I also found a installation for SimplePortal here: http://wiki.wowhead-tooltips.com/install:simpleportal . I only posting this so you can see what they change at simple portal. I am not coding expert (not even close :P) but I think that TP makes his own parse of the post. So this piece of code should be put somewhere at TP's files.
Quoterequire_once(dirname(__FILE__) . '/../wowhead/parse.php');
$row['body'] = whp_parse($row['body']);
The details:
Link to my site: http://www.infinite-guild.eu
SMF version: SMF 2.0RC3
TP version: TP ver. 1.0RC1
Theme name and version: Defautl
Browser Name and Version: Chrome / Firefox
Mods installed: Tinyportal / Avea
Related Error messages: Described above
Thanks in advance,
mOOwalker
Some more information.
Here it does not work: http://www.infinite-guild.eu/index.php
Here it does work: http://www.infinite-guild.eu/index.php/topic,2758.html
Same topic. First link is at the frontpage, second link at the forum. I think I have to change something at TPortal.php for this to work, not quite sure.
Any ideas?

mOOwalker,
The following Mod on the SMF Mods Page will do what you want --> http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=1633
If you are using a custom theme, you will need to follow the steps on that page which start with "To install the WoW - Tooltips mod on custom themes..."
Tested and working in both Forum posts and in posts shown on the TinyPortal FrontPage (see the links below for my test site, and look at the Forum post first) ...

Edit: If you look at the post on the FrontPage of my test site and glance to the right at the Shout block, you'll notice that in the most recent shout (at the bottom of the scrolling Shoutbox), the ToolTips also work there as well.
Actually, the mod you posted doesn't do half of the stuff that Wowhead Tooltips does.
The problem is likely caused by the fact that the portals parser isn't edited to include whp_parse(), which is required by Wowhead Tooltips to parse the BBCode.
I know that but it works good for "items" because it's an SMF Mod, not some third party Mod that is not guaranteed to work with anything. Because it's not even SMF approved, I'm not sure that I would even want to use it on my SMF site, given that I know nothing about the security in it. I'd feel safer with using the API from WOWArmory to write some code than I would using Wowhead Tooltips, at least until I know more about it.
Again, that Mod is NOT Wowhead Tooltips. I never said it was. If Wowhead Tooltips was an approved Mod on the SMF Mods Site then it would work with TinyPortal, FrontPage or otherwise.
The only thing that I can do is ask one of our coders, or possibly even Bloc, if it's something that could or should be approved for use with TinyPortal.

Given that the original poster (mOOwalker) hasn't yet responded to these posts, and that he obviously must have mentioned it to our new member (wowheadtooltips) that I suggested he use the approved SMF module (WoW - World of Warcraft Tooltips) instead, I have little incentive at this time to continue to look into making the 3rd party module he asked about (http://www.wowhead-tooltips.com/) work on the TinyPortal FrontPage. The reason for this is because I don't have a WOW Guild Forum, or any kind of a WOW Forum for that matter, at least not right now.
FWIW, I'm sure that wowhead-tooltips Mod is safe and that it could fairly easily be made to work on the TP FrontPage but, until someone asks for the required TP edits, I don't see any reason to get into this. Given that TinyPortal is a little more compicated than SimplePortal wrt Articles, the edits would not only need to be made for the FrontPage but the TP Article System as well. The edits might also need to be done for the TP Download manager and the TP Simple Shoutbox, or any other module that can use BBC code. Until someone asks for us to look into it, it would just be wasted effort.
In any case, I went ahead and did a few more tests with the SMF Mod to see if it works fine with TinyPortal Articles. The result is that it works fine, without error, with TinyPortal BBC Articles for both the article and for the article as shown on the FrontPage.

Hi,
Sorry for not answering earlier but RL work has kept me from doing so. I know that addon,but to be completely honest I really like wowhead-tooltips much more. If you know about World of Warcraft, you will see that wowhead-tooltips offers, apart from items, spell, players, guild, achievements and much more. I prefer sticking with wowhead-tooltips for the time being and try to make it work somehow.
Thanks again,
mOOwalker
mOOwalker,
Yes, I've already seen that the features of that Mod are very nice. I'll have to ask Bloc to take a look at this to make sure that it can be done (I'm sure that it can) and that there aren't any security issues with it. If you don't see me post back in this topic in a week or so, feel free to bump the topic.

Bump :)

mOOwalker,
Thanks. I talked to Bloc once about this but he hasn't gotten back to me yet. I'll ask him about it again. Another week please.

If you simply add the parsing at the end of "parse_bbc()" function - which is what SMF posts and TP BBC articles call - it should work fine everywhere. Theres no need to mod separately where the articles/posts are rendered or fetched.

Hi.
Thanks for you answer. You can you help me out in which file I should edit?
EDIT: Ok. I fixed it. You have to go at
Sources/Subs.php file and I added around line 927 the following.
if (!function_exists('whp_parse'))
require_once(dirname(__FILE__) . '/../wowhead/parse.php');
$message = whp_parse($message);For me, I had to change
require_once(dirname(__FILE__) . '/../wowhead/parse.php');to
require_once('/home/******/domains/infinite-guild.eu/public_html/wowhead/parse.php')Thank you for your help.
