Link to my site: http://www.terragen.org
SMF version: 1.1.11
TP version: 1.0 beta 5-1
Theme name and version: Default SMF theme (with default TinyPortal enhancements)
Browser Name and Version: All browsers
Mods installed: None
Related Error messages: None
I am in the process of upgrading the site from SMF 1.1.7 to the current version and upgrading Tinyportal from 0.9xx to the current beta. In addition to a could of theme-related differences, there is a major display error on the downloads main page (shown in the attached files). Does anyone have any idea which files/settings to modify/replace to fix this strange formatting problem?
I think that might have been an issue that was in TP 1 beta 5.1. Have you tried the latest version TP 1 beta 5.2 ?
Thanks for the advice. Interestingly, I went through the package manager to uninstall TinyPortal, but that didn't have any effect. I uninstalled and then deleted the package, but all of TinyPortal's effects still appear.
Update:
I reinstalled the Source folder, Template folder and image folder, and managed to get rid of all remaining TP references I could see in the interface. I then proceeded to install the version downloaded from the SMF mod site (http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=97) and I still came up with beta 5-1, even though the file is named TP1b5.2.zip. Any recommendations on where I can get a package that will actually install TP1b5.2?
The copyright wording may be an issue that we need to ask Bloc about but did installing the latest version fix the problem that you originally posted about above?

It could be that something in your browser cache is causing this. Can you use a different browser to download and install?
I tried using a different browser, but I still got the same result.
Zar - reinstalling and uninstalling the portal didn't help with the problem.
Any other ideas?

I'm assuming you mean after you install TP it shows the wrong version at the bottom of the page?
If you have installed TP1.0b5-2 on SMF1.1.11 it will show as TP1.0 Beta 5.1 there's a coding error on that version. When it's installed on SMF2 RC3 it shows the correct version TP1.0 Beta 5-2.
I have the same results in my test forums, here,
SMF 2RC3 and TP 1.0b5-2 (http://thepicvault.com/) and here,
SMF 1.1.11 And TP1.0b5-2 (http://thepicvault.com/smf1.1.11/)
Interesting. Thanks for clearing that up; it looks like it's installed fine then.
That still doesn't explain the formatting problems I've been having, unfortunately.

Glad to help with the version info at least ;) The formatting problem you are seeing is obviously a bug, I've just checked with my fresh install, no mods or anything, just a fresh install of SMF 1.1.11 and applied the TP1.0b5-2 mod.
I'm seeing the same problems. ??? also had to switch the language setting to English from English.Utf8 before I could even see the settings tabs.
So you're not alone. ;) Hopefully the coding team will get to the bottom of this very soon.
Thanks for looking into this. It's good to know that it's not just me, but too bad that it's not an easy fix. Is there a place where I can submit an official bug report? Do you know how long it might take for something like this to be fixed?
The team will take a look in here soon for sure. ;)
Hopefully they will come up with a solution to the problem ASAP. You never know it might be an easy fix. :-\
just a note on this ..
do not use any of the editor's .. I only use raw HTML and things align better for some reason ?
Could you elaborate a little bit? Where do I turn off the editors?
TPAmin>>Settings .. nothing to it blaggy ;)
I must be a complete idiot :-\. Could you post a screenshot?
I've checked the TPAdmin -> Settings and Frontpage and TPAdmin -> TPdownloads -> settings, but neither has anything helpful.

This is my setup assign to Cat's / Frontpage / all Panels .. this can be on DLmanager as well.
....if i'm wrong I apologize. .. can be turn-off on the fly as well ..

Thanks for the additional details. Unfortunately, it didn't help :(. Perhaps you're just luckier than I am ;).

OB, I have been getting the team to check my test site for the problem, they agree there is some very ugly rendering issues. It has now been reported in the Bug tracker.
We'll just have to wait and see what they come up with now I'm afraid. I'll keep you posted with any news on this. ;)
see O_B , turns out I'm the idiot .. Lmao! :P
Crip - No worries, thanks for the efforts!
lurkalot - Thanks a whole bunch for your help. Hope it gets fixed soon!
Any updates on this?
Unfortunately I haven't seen Bloc make any updates. I'm hoping he's working on one though, but I have no word from him lately. Will keep you posted.
Too bad :(. Thanks for the info, though.
Looking at the bugtracker this morning, it does look like the problem has been assigned now,
So Bloc is taking a look. ;)
Cool, good to know :).
The div's in TPdlmanager.template.php are the problem. A quick solution is to put a table around them. Can you please check if the display correct if you replace the Themes/default/TPdlmanager.template.php with the one in the attachment?
It's only a quick hack for testing.
Thanks Klas. That's a good start and gets things looking legible. There are still some coloring and formatting issues, but this gets us 80% of the way there while we wait for the final release. Thanks!
In tp-style.css
background: url(../images/theme/main_block.png) no-repeat 100% -160px;
main_block.png doesnt exist in smf 1.1.x, only in 2.x. The one from 2.x is not for the 1.1.x theme but you can try it.

Just did this after replacing the TPdlmanager.template.php. It looks a bit better but still a lot is missing? I'll look into that as well.
Is the old TP 0.9 somewhere for download?
The complete template is for smf 2 and should be rewritten for smf 1.1. Someone working on this?
Are you sure about that? Except for the download-manager, it look OK to me.
Sorry, I meant the the complete download manager template ;)
I did't take a look at the other parts.
You guys lost me. lol What are you asking about? TP 0.9.8 is no longer available an unsupported.
Don't know, but Klas might be experimenting with the download Manager hickups and my best guess he needs 0.9.8 for testing purposes?
Any updates here? Klas's solution is a great stopgap, but I'm hoping that an official release might be able to fix things 100%.
Sorry for the lack of input. :-[
There was a couple more bugs that cropped up in the bugtracker since I last spoke to you. I think Bloc is now pretty close to releasing TP 1.0.RC1. This will cure your problem as it has for my test sites.
Great, thanks for the response. Looking forward to the update :).
OB
The wait is over, TP1.0 RC1 has been released. :) http://mods.simplemachines.org/index.php?mod=97
Thanks a lot! Things are mostly fixed, but there is still an ugly line through the page: http://www.terragen.org/index.php?action=tpmod;dl=0
However, I can easily fix that bit once I get a spare minute or two.
Thanks for all of your help and support!
Looks much better now. Getting there at last O0
Wondered if it's that theme causing the problem, as I don't see that line on any of my four test sites. ???
Could be: the theme is a bit old. This week has been busy, so I haven't had a chance to look at it yet, but I'll let you know if I have trouble sorting it out when I get around to it this weekend.
