Hi, glad to be around.
I asume I got some old posts from tinyportal.co.uk. Could someone with the right permissions please merge them with my account?
Akyhne,
What you ask is not as easy as it might sound. TP.net had almost 50,000 members. When we created this site, most of the old topics were imported but without the member database. Because of this, everyone who posted on the old site is listed as a guest in their posts. Some of us have 1000's of posts, including me and all of them list me as a guest. Doing what you would ask would be next to impossible for everyone.
The best thing I could tell you is that if there is something important that you posted, you'll just have to search for it.

Edit: However, let me say that this has been discussed and a couple of us are looking into it. Can't promise anything right now though.
It's a build in feature option of SMF 2 to attribute posts to new members. A simple click.
Oh really. Hmmm, I learn something new every day. I'll look into it.

Admin -> Forum Maintenance -> Members ->
Attribute posts to member:
Just tried didn't seem to have worked! is this the same spelling for your old user name on tp.net and email addy?
Yeah, I'm looking at it. It appears that works fine but it doesn't affect your current post count. Let me do a little research on this. It might be as simple as recounting all Forum Totals and Stats. Just bear with me, OK?
ZarPrime
I used it several times in different forums and it worked like a charm then. But that was back in the RC1.xx days, maybe the devs managed to break it lol

You have to enable the option "Add posts to users post count"
Well, I thought that I did that. Maybe I didn't. I re-attributed my own old posts to my account here and it did re-attribute the posts but didn't change my post count. I'm checking into it.
Give me a link to one of your old posts and I'll try it with yours.
ZarPrime
I did get my old posts back, but my post count didn't increase:

Yes, that's what happened when I did it to mine as well.
ZarPrime
Well, you can always edit the 'posts' in smf_members in the DB, but that would be a hell of a job with +50.000 users xD.
"Recount all forum totals and statistics" won't do, unless they added that to the feature since I was in the team.
Yeah, I could do that for 1 or 2 people, no doubt, but I wouldn't want to make this my life's work. ;)
I just posted about it over on SMF to see if I'm missing some trick to it or something --> http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=387763.0

It's interesting that you had mentioned this. Before you had requested that we do this for you, we had actually been looking into doing something about that because all of Bloc's old posts (user #1) are now attributed to Lesmond, since he was the original user #1 on this site. Because of that, all of Bloc's posts from the News Board that show up on the FrontPage are now attributed to Les. :D
ZarPrime
Yeah, I wondered about that, hehe.
Well, you now know how to reattribute posts, making a DB script to recount users posts should be fairly easy if the SMF build-in feature doesn't work.
did you try "Recount all forum totals and statistics" ZP?
No, I didn't try that yet. I guess I should try that though Akyhne said that wouldn't work.
ZP
give me a few to take a backup of the database
Edit: OK got it
