I recentley upgraded to TP 1.05 beta. After I did I was unable to see uploaded avatar pics.
It goes to show the image but is just a box with an X in it. Also in the panels and blocks section the activate toggle image is the same.
Does anyone know how I can fix this.

Did you upgrade SMF too? When you right click on the image and look at the properties, do the images exist in the path they are pointing to? TP doesn't touch avatar settings, so I don't know what could be wrong really.
I had it on 1.1.11 update for SMF since it came out. I updated TP just a while ago and realized immediatley that the activate toggle in boards wasn't visible. I didn't know until a little while later that the avatars were affected. Everything seems to be pointing in the right direction. I also checked the path in the avatar directory and everything is pointing in the right direction. It's almost like it doesn't recognize the correct picture format, which in most cases is a .png
Well if there's a 404, then the file is not found. As your link above indicates, the file is not at that location. Can you show me a page where the avatar is not showing?
Now I believe the error is in my database. I loaded a temp site with all the updates and as soon as I redirect my database to it, that's when they don't show. So unless you know how to correct the database from this error, I guess I'm done.

The database stores the paths. Have you looked to see if your paths are correct?

I don't know if you are referring to Avatars in FrontPage posts or just everywhere but a little more than a month ago I reported an issue with Avatars not showing correctly in FP Forum posts. I don't know if it was a bug exactly or just a quirk, but Bloc has fixed that issue for TP 1.0 beta 5.2. It had to do with Avatars that were uploaded by the member. If I changed them so that they were from a url, they worked. You could read the discussion about it here ...

I don't know if this has anything to do with your issue or not. This was an issue in TP 1.0 beta 5-1. In any case, Bloc has added the fix for the next update, TP 1.0 beta 5.2.

They are there and the directory is correct, but in the forum they don't show.
As far as the 5.2 patch, it isn't released yet.

If it's only happening in Forum posts, this would probably be a question to ask about at SMF. Out of curiosity, are there any errors in your error log about avatars and are you running any other SMF Mods that have anything to do with Avatars? I changed the url for avatars like you posted and it worked.

The only image not showing now is when I go to the panels and blocks board and the activate image doesn't show. Not a big problem.

There are 3 images that are in use in that "activate" column at different times. If you click on any of the links below you can see that the 3 images are present on your site and in their proper location ...

If you look at the image attached to this post, you will see other images on this page as well that are used for different things (Move Block to X {left, right, upper, etc.}, Edit, Save, Delete). All of these images should also be located in the same folder and should show up for each block. Are these images showing up? For instance, is there a red X in the delete column for each block (that red X is an image)? If none of these images are showing up then there is likely a problem with the paths with those as well. Did you run repair_settings.php like I mentioned?
If none of these images are showing up, then you may just not have gotten a good install for one reason or another.

I did have a long explanation to help diagnosing the problem then I thought I would check the path of the pic's in the activate box. Turns out the directory was no pointing to the default theme, it was pointing to the added theme, at which the pic's were not there. Now they are and now it works.

This could have happened for a variety of reasons. For instance, if TP was not installed to the default SMF core theme but to a custom theme instead, this is probably the most likely culprit. Prior to SMF 2.0, TinyPortal must always be installed and made to work first with the default SMF theme before trying to make it work with custom themes.
In any case, I'm glad you figured it out and I will mark this topic solved, if you haven't already done so.
