I just upgraded from 1.1.11 to 2.0rc3
I uninstalled all my mods b4 i upgraded and used the Large Uprade on SMF site.
The frontpage shows up fine using firefox or chrome, but IE 8 does not.
I've tried diff themes and still same exact problem in IE8.
I even disabled the front panel and still same issue. The right & left panels are broken

in IE 8 it looks OK to me , what isn't right in your view ? maybe a screen-shot of your view might help?

I was using FF unaware Lol , ...does look way bad bad in IE8.
You need to clean up the code inside the blocks..when I check the page for errors, lots of them appear for missing and unclosed table/list tags, most likely due to the content you have. As such its no wonder why IE8 chokes on it lol. :)
Firefox doesn't, but then IE is much more picky about it, and more so after SMF now do NOT use just HTML tables anymore. The tables in SMF 1.1 masked that you had faulty content, but SMF 2.0 use of divs will not.

i unchecked every block on left & right and only left the USER block and still has issues :(
I myself dont care to ever use IE8 :) but i know many do
** also wiped all files and re-installed full smf and tp again and still same issue.
Site validates with no errors now but still have that same issue

i reckon that is just a bug with IE8 .. try and use FF / Opera as much as possible. :)
doesn't make sense, this site shows up fine in IE8 :(
Are the blocks custom code or the built in blocks/

Are you allowing each block to expand/collapse ?

This is not correct, you are using custom blocks afaics on the site, and the errors persists in IE8. It validates now, which is good, but something is still causing these glitches.
So he should try using the built in blocks to see if they fix the issue then.
I'm pretty sure I'm using built in blocks for user and stats. I got them both from the dropdown list under TYPE. I didn't add any custom code, only activated them. I even tried disabling right/left panels one at a time and still had same issue.
Not sure if this pertains but my error log is full of same error' Unable to load TpAdvShout.english language file' and I don't even use a shoutbox.
Also I tried css validation and get 2 errors about width- px px
anyone have any idea on my next step? Could it be a db issue from the upgrade causing the IE8 errors along with the weird "unable to load TpAdvShout.english"
Ok, I narrowed down my problem. It's got something to do with tp beta 5-1.
I uninstalled b5-1 and uploaded b5 and it's showing up perfectly on IE8 now.
Could it be bugged? Is anyone else having left/right panel issues with latest tp in IE8?
