I have copied my live forum(files and DB) in order to test TP1b5. This is running SMFrc3 with the Curve theme. The forum was originally running an earlier version of TP which was replaced with SimplePortal when the forum was upgraded to SMF2.
The install went fine and everything seems to be working except....
The left and right TP panels have extra padding (see attached image) .This seems to occur whatever theme is used. Any ideas what might be causing this? Is it a hangover from the earlier TP install?
Can I have a link to your installation so I can firebug it?
Also, what is the width setting of your theme?
Do you have the padding set in Panels section of TPAdmin for this?
Link is www.sisac.co.uk/forumback (http://www.sisac.co.uk/forumback)
Forum width is not set t anything setting it to 100% makes no difference.
The padding between panels is set to 4 pixels. Changing this works correctly changing the space outside of the frame of the panel.
For the left and right panels
Width of this panel: 170
Changing this seems to work
For all panels
Width of this panel: 150
Changing this seems to have no effect on the left and right panels. Works on the bottom panel.
Not sure if it is important but I had never used a bottam panel in the original forum.
Thanks for any help.
The roundframe style of panels really introduces some extra padding, so its hard to get exact alignment for them. Try turning of "use roundframe style" in TP settings and see if it looks better.
The overall padding can be set in Panels section, the number there will adjust all panels towards the center, but keep outsides clear of paddings.
That was it thanks.
In the test site I set up from scratch this option was set to no by default. In this test site which was upgraded the option was set to Yes.
