SMF2.0 RC3
That's a SMF thing. I been bitching about it for awhile now.
As it is explained to me, it' something like this: perhaps your site is non UTF-8, and you cut & pasted text that is UTF-8, or vice versa.
While the text looks the same, it's encoded differently. Either ISO or UTF. UTF is better because it it suuports non-latin characters in other lanuages. ISO doesn't.
Here is an example of non-latin characters: العربية
I will mention it to bloc, but I'm pretty sure it's SMF. It often happens when you copy ISO encoded text and paste in a UTF-8 support section or vice versa.
Even copy & pasted empty spaces do it. You can rewrite the text you are using by hand, or just try and delete the little question marks(red squares) as I do.
Here's another beta 5 question. I installed it and now only the Home page (frontpage) gets this error:
You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'IFNULL(mem.realName,art.author) as realName FROM smf_tp_articles AS art
LEFT ' at line 2
File: /home/kensei5/public_html/trailsendnv.com/Sources/TPortal.php
Line: 1818
Has anyone else encountered this? I reinstalled SMF with the Large package hoping that would fix it and it didn't. Any clue?

This error has been confirmed, Bloc is working on a fix.
Thank you!
Oh God! i get the same error.. now no one can see my forum, is there any fast or temporary solution till Bloc fixes this?
I uninstalled and reverted back to 4. That worked. :)
