I installed Tiny Portal yesterday. I do not want to use the downloads manager so I turned it off. After it was turned off it still showed a collapsed box where it had been displayed in the left hand column. Any idea how to get rid of this approximately 2 pixel high empty box?
I have attached a screenshot of the issue. You can see the empty box below the User box.
Thank you for your help.
Yes, go to your blocks listing in your TP admin section. Find that block in the left panel, and change the settings to turn it off, or delete it. I can't tell you exactly, because you have not told me what version of TP & SMF you are using.
It is not listed to be turned off in the blocks section. I am using SMF 1.1.11 and TP 1.0 beta 4.
Welcome to TinyPortal dbg20.
Check your in blocks admin to see if there is an empty block as seen in this screen shot, if there is you should be able to do as Xarcell suggested and simply turn it off or delete it.
... block #0 has no name and no content and was being used as a visable spacer and it displayed like the one in your screenshot.

Thank you for the next thing to look at. No the empty block does not exist in admin. If I reactivate the downloads it will go right back into that box but there is nothing to show for it now in admin.
Is this something that has been added to the index template that I can just delete?
There is nothing in teh template to delete. There us a block there with nothing in it. make sure it's not the "sitemap" block. If it is, disable it or delete it.
TP beta4 adds nothing but a forum button to index.template.php. I'm pretty sure it has something to do with your blocks configuration. Could be some block that isn't appearing in your admin panel I guess. Take a look at the tp_blocks table in your database and see if the rows match up with what is in your admin panel. If not, delete the offending row. (Make a backup first of course!). :)
I think it's the "sitemap" block in his left panel. I'm pretty sure it is...
Ok, thanks to everyones help I have found the solution. It was related to the empty block in admin idea. For some reason when I installed TP it decided to make a sitemap block. The sitemap block had a title but it did not display even the title in the side block. Disabling the block did not remove it. Once it was deleted the artifact was removed. Thank you again for your help in troubleshooting this.
Posted that while you guys were posting. You beat me to the punch. Thank you very much for your help, it is great to see a responsive community. One question, how did you know I had a sitemap block when it was not displayed (at least as far as I could tell) on the page?
Good job.

It's there as a default feature when installed. :)
That makes sense IchBin. Thank you for a great product :)
