can someone tell me if this is correct: If I create a new membergroup today, would that mean I have to go into EACH and EVERY block, and set all of the blocks to be viewable by the new membergroup?
I have no problem doing this... in fact Ive already set them, but If this is true, I must have overlooked soemthing for awhile now.. Because I have always thought the panels were viewable by the new membergroups. Im just not sure if i messed with a different feature that turned that off or soemthing..
thanks
Shane, this is generally true I think, but another Team member may correct me if that's wrong.
It should also be true that if a member is listed in more than one member group and one of those groups can see the block, then they will see it, even though your new group has not yet been set to view the block.
You will have to do this, yes. And as ken says, if members are in multiple, it won't matter.
I am not sure how we can make that easier - but one idea might be that TP admin always checks which membergroups exists against what it has stored before, so it will notify you of any new groups it has detected and offer to add it to your blocks, chosen by ticking off which ones?
Ok thanks you two. I just wanted to make sure I understood it..

When you add a new membergroup, and base permissions of an existing membergroup, could you possibly have it so it also copies the TP options?
Or, how about a matrix of blocks/membergroups, with checkboxes so you can easily compare/add/remove blocks over several membergroups?
the matrix of blocks sounds good.. so you can get a quick view to see what blocks are related to what groups and views.
