Title: TPShout: problem in posting new shouts (Unable to load the 'main' template)
Post by: smartmouse on January 27, 2010, 04:50:06 PM
Link to my site: http:/ /www.mon*ywant*rsforum . com (* = e)
SMF version: SMF v1.1.11
TP version: TP v1.0 Beta 4
Theme name and version: Black14k
Browser Name and Version: Firefox 3.5.7
Mods installed: YouTube BBCode, reCAPTCHA, Topic description, Global Announcements, Post Prefix, Hide SMF Version, Favicon, VisualWarning, TinyPortal, View Single PM, Rename Topic, Ad Managment, SMF File Manager
Related Error messages: Unable to load the 'main' template

I'm sorry if i open a new topic but after searches i don't find anything usefull to fix my problem.

I write in the box of the shoutbox and when i press the "Send" button it goes to the forum index instead of to the shoutbox page (www.mysite.com/index.php?action=forum).
Besides if i press the "Last shouts" button it goes to the forum index, but the page has "Theme Gallery - Search" as title and www.mysite.com/index.php?action=tpmod;shout=show50 as URL.

Finally, in the admin panel, when i click on "TP Simple Shout" in the "Modules and Tags" section it goes always to the forum index (www.mysite.com/index.php?action=tpmod;shout).

:'(

I forgot to say that in the first case the shout is posted anyway.

Well, it should go to the Forum Index when you post in the Shoutbox.  If you want it to go to the Front Page instead, read this topic --> Login/shoutbox Redirect (http://www.tinyportal.net/index.php?topic=23213.msg188221#msg188221)

The search is your friend. ;)

Even "Last shouts" button should show the forum index?

No, if it says "/index.php?action=tpmod;shout=show50" at the end of the url in your address bar, it should show the latest 50 shouts.  Did you do the edit specified in Bloc's post that I linked in my last post?

As for "Theme Gallery - Search" being shown in the title bar, that could be a bug in TP 1.0 beta 4 because it does that on my test site as well.  However, if this is the case, you will likely have to live with it as I doubt that Bloc will be making any more fixes in TP 1.0 beta 4, especially since it has been fixed for beta 5, which is what we are working on testing now.

I tried the first fix but i can't find that code in my tp-files/tp-modules/TPShout/Sources/TPShout.php
(was that path wrong? He says tp-files/tp-modules/tp-shoutbox/Sources/TPShout.php).

Then i tried the second fix but i discovered that i was wrong! At the bottom of the page there is the shoutbox page! Then it works!

...but why it appears at the end of the page? Have i to change any option to show it at the top of the page instead of the central modules?

You change it to where ever you want smartmouse. If you want it at the top, put it at the top. If you want it at the bottom, put it at the bottom. Why are you asking us where you want it?

You misunderstand me due my bad english. I mean... how to make it to show at the top before the other blocks?

smartmouse, you should be able to move your block up, or down, in your Panels and Blocks edit screen.

Yeah, I think that "tp-shoutbox" is wrong.  It should be "\tp-files\tp-modules\TPShout\Sources".  Bloc may have made that post when he was working on an SVN before the code was final.

On the other question, though what Ken and Ichbin mentioned is correct, I think that smartmouse meant the 4 blocks shown on top when he's on the "/index.php?action=tpmod;shout=show50" page.  Is that correct smartmouse?  If that is the case, you could do a couple of things.  Those 4 blocks in your upper panel (I think) could be set to show only on the Front Page or you could set the panels to all be turned off when in the tpmod action, sort of like on this page on my test site ...

Tha attached image will show you how to do that.

Yes obviously ;)

I tried both solutions and although they both work i prefered to use the first one because i want to show the panel on the sides and i want to hide the central panels.

Thank you!

Ehm... if i try to send a shout as guest it does't save it in the list of all shouts... It works only if an user is logged.
In the admin panel i select the option to let anonymous users to post shouts, but it does not work. Why?

smartmouse,

To avoid spam, I don't personally allow any guest shouts on any of my Forums so someone else might be able to help you with this issue.  However, it might be better if you start a new support topic since this one has been marked solved.
