Greetings, i dont know if it is a bug or its soomething im doing wrong.
If i have the following :
Categorie A (0 articles)
Categorie AA (child of Categorie A, 1 article)
Now i can't reach the article to edit it (in admin section) ... if i click on "Articles and Categories" > Articles i have the list of Categories (Main ones) .... if i click on Categorie A i get a Blank page.
So how can i edit or delete the article (thought Admin) that is on Categorie A / Categorie AA ?
Thank you in advance.
Offtopic : I supose theres no way to get an Editor with more functions , right ? like ckeditor, i say these cause most of article authors dont know html or php .... they use the editor as an word processor ... :P
Sorry forgot details .... here :
Link to my site: local
SMF version: 1.1.11
TP version: 1.0 beta 4
Theme name and version: default
Browser Name and Version: Chrome, IExplorer, Opera, Firefox (all latest versions)
Mods installed: None (clean install)
Related Error messages: No error messages
So can you access any category then? Or do you get a blank page when trying to go into any category to edit an article? You check the error log for SMF? What about the apache log to see if there is any error information?
Smf error log : Clear
Server Error is : PHP Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 67108864 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 40 bytes) in /var/www/vhosts/localhost/test/httpdocs/Sources/TPortalAdmin.php on line 2746, referer: http://localhost/index.php?action=tpadmin;sa=articles
So can you access any category then?
If i have 1 Categorie with no Child Categories and with some articles all works....
If i have 1 Categorie with Childs Categories i get blank page and that server error.
If i have 1 Categorie empty i get also blank page and the same server error.
:(
Note in these diferent cases the errors are in TPortalAdmin.php line 2746 to line 2749 (depends of each case)
So far what i have found is if i delete 1 categorie that gives me the error and create it again with the same name and configurations it works, so i thought that prolly was a database problem, went to database and compared the categorie that works with one that gives error, the unique diference is the name of them, could not find any problem :( ... so i have two identical categories and one gives the error (that ive reported) other (the new one) doesnt have any problem ....
Note : both categories dont have child categories ..
Pulha,
If you will look through the bugtracker, you will find several known bugs in TinyPortal 1.0 beta 4 involving categories. Some have fixes and some will be fixed for TP 1.0 beta 5.

Try using BBC Articles instead.

Ah ok ... ty very much ... for now ill delete the categories that gives error and create again ..
About off topic ... mmmm ... well BBC should be an good solution ... but still missing some stuff like choosing diferent fonts, etc... my goal is that an standard user could be able to create a webpage by creating an Article ... for instance, if i have an emply website with a simple template the user(admin) could create his website by creating articles ... :P ... well these is another post ... sry the offtopic....
Thank you very much.
I don't know if Bloc has had a look at CKEditor since it changed names from FCKEditor but I just looked at their website and it looks pretty good. It might be worth another look. I'll mention it on the Team Board. FWIW, switching editors is not as easy as you might imagine.

If I remember right, the actual size of the ckeditor is bigger than TP itself. I'd much rather see any additional editors added as a module to TP.
Agree ... or Tp editor, that is quite good, could be improved ... till beat ckeditor :P ...
once again sry the offtopic
regards.
