Title: Ability to Upload and Install Modules Missing?
Post by: Chuck850 on November 24, 2009, 08:03:13 PM
Apologies if this has been asked, but I searched and didn't find much help here.

I have a SMF 1.1.10 site on which I installed TinyPortal v1.0 beta 4.  Most everything is working great, with the exception of the Modules and Tags section.  I would like to add a few modules, but for the life of me, I cannot find an Upload, Install, etc option as described in some other posts.

Am I missing something?  According this documentation, it should be an option here --> http://docs.tinyportal.co.uk/index.php/topic,97.html (http://docs.tinyportal.co.uk/index.php/topic,97.html)

What is visible on my screen can be found here:

Hi Chuck850, welcome to TinyPortal.

Currently the ShoutBox is only module that loads directly into TP and it's included in your install of TP so there's nothing to upload there, you just turn it on in your TP controls.

There is also one other module, TP Reviews, but it is installed through the SMF package manager and then the controls show up in your TP panel.

Apparently I didn't have a clean install.  I got the infamous Hacking attempt... trying to use tp_install.php when I originally installed, but everything looked fine, so I went on.

I added lines to tp_install.php to echo out it's progress.  Apparently it failed in lines 1032-1033, when tp_install.php calls Subs-Post.php.

   require_once($sourcedir . '/Subs-Post.php');
   preparsecode($newmod['description']);

I checked Subs-Post.php twice for the proper edits, then deleted it and re-edited the original again following the instructions, with no luck.  I started echoing lines in that php and it failed right way.

Finally I just commented out lines 24 and 25, and it ran right through and finished the install.  I'm not sure if that's what I should have done, but it seems to have worked.  *fingers crossed*
