Title: Images Missing After Installing Program
Post by: stormwatcher on October 13, 2009, 03:15:48 AM
I am using smf 1.1.10

I uploaded and applied TP_0983

the mod showed to install perfectly....... shows up to date.

The mod seems to be fully functional.

Problem.........a few images are not showing up in the program. i was wondering what images are missing and where should they be located? see photo below....

OK.......I got it solved......I went to the SMF mod site and reviewed the manual install instructions........and found that during the installation process.........the tp-images folder was not in root directory.

I did not try to find out if it was elsewhere.......I just created the tp-images folder.......put it in root and it worked.

This is probably not a problem with the mod.....it probably an issue with my host......fatcow.com.

If I add a mod........it always takes a lot of crap to get it running. There are permission issues that fatcow does not allow. By their own admission, (fatcow) says they always have issues with SMF scripts and mods.

I would not recommend fatcow.com to those running SMF..........because of the above issues. Other than that, fatcow seems fine.

Problem solved!

Hi stormwatcher, welcome to TinyPortal.

Glad you got it sorted out.

A couple of points for future reference:

*Always install any Mod, including TP, with your forum set to the SMF Default theme and then if your custom theme is missing anything, like icons, you can usually copy over the folder for those icons to the custom theme.

*There are often workarounds for host issues and if you post a hosting issue on SMF or here you may be able to find an answer.

*And... if you do need to do manual edits or installs we have a Docs section that should be helpful for that.
