Post by: parten37 on September 29, 2009, 02:19:19 AM
This error caused 3 of my sites to go offline.  Can you tell me how to fix this?

How did it cause them to go offline? How is it that all the sites were running and then they do not suddenly? Need more details about your problem, as well as your setup before I can give a good answer. Could you follow the Posting Guidelines (http://www.tinyportal.net/index.php/topic,581) and supply all the info asked for please?

Don't be affraid of using the search ;)

Cant give you any more help then this as you didnt say what you did to your 3 sites when this happend, you must have done something to all 3 that give you this error, installed a theme, some mod or you tried to install TP to a custom theme instead of the default core theme.

Follow the link i gave.

I havent worked on those sites for a while.  I have been working on another site.  They were on my favorites list for at least a week since i did anything on them before they disappeared.  Not a big deal, I can go into ftp and erase them and start over.  All content can be copied and pasted back in unless there is a way to fix them.

You should be able to fix them if you go through the manual install and verify that all the files are there, and that all the files have been edited by TP. If you didn't touch your sites, then maybe your host did.

Visual Basic is the only language I ever learned so I'm not experienced with the C and Unix environment where the chmod command is used.  Probably better for me to clean the slate and reinstall.  Thanks
