Title: How do I turn on the shoutbox in 1.0 beta 4?
Post by: hostile on August 28, 2009, 07:50:37 PM
Link to my site: http://demo.pwnyguild.com
SMF version: 1.1.10
TP version: 1.0 beta 4
Theme name and version: Default theme
Browser Name and Version: Firefox 3.5.2
Mods installed: phpBB3_Login_Fix 1.0,  WoW Character Profiles 1.9.2, WoW - World of Warcraft Tooltips 1.1
Related Error messages:  "Unable to load the 'main' template."

I know this is a stupid question and I must just be missing the option somewhere but I've looked all over and tried searching these forums...

How do I get the shoutbox to display?  It's turned on in the modules and I've set some options but I can't get it to appear in any of the panels.

When I click on the name in the modules section I get an error, "Unable to load the 'main' template."

These are all new installs, no upgrades.

thanks. :)

I guess I should be looking at this part:

QuoteDo I need TP themes?

Theme-wise you don't have to convert SMF themes as before, but you WILL need to add a forum button to them. If you are using a old TP theme it will also render fine, but note that its panel functions are no longer executed. So if that theme use a customised panel routine, you need to reconstruct it by using a copy of the TP  template called TPBlockLayout.template. The old "TPortalBlocks.template" is now obsolete and can be deleted.

Images for TP is now called from default theme as default. But if any theme has a "tinyportal" folder , it will rather use those images instead.

No, if you're having a problem with the shoutbox displaying you should look at this part on the page I linked to.
QuoteWhere is my old Shoutbox?

Due to the transformation of Shoutbox to an external module, there are also a few steps to take if you want to re-use the shoutbox again.
Go to "modules" section and to the tab "uploaded modules". Install the shoutbox module, either one of them or both
Go back to the blocks, either modify the older "shoutbox" block(now as a "blank" block) or create a new. In both cases choose the type as "TP module"..the last of the list there. Save and then edit again, this time a list of installed modules should appear for you too choose
Choose the shout module you like and save
Check that the block render the shoutbox

Ok, I figured it out.   The section in that link is misleading since I didn't have an "old shoutbox".  ;D

Thanks.
